20/10/2017 00:24 | It's been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride Paps but I'm lovin' every minute of it. I don't hold any BTC at the moment but it's going through what is called a fork at the moment which leads to a lot of volatility, so interesting times. My holding is mainly in IOTA which is quite different to Blockchain technology (BTC is built on Blockchain technology) but won't come right for possibly several years. However if it is adopted by the masses it will be HUGE. BOSCH, Volkswagen and several other big corporates are partnering with them for research and testing etc so if they convert this into actual adoption then it'll be a game changer! :-) To answer your question, I am up overall but if I had cashed out several weeks ago I would have quadrupled my initial investment. That said, I am in this for the long haul and hope to make some serious gains over the next 3-5 years so the short term gains are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. Cryptos are extremely volatile so it's defo not for the faint hearted! :-) Thinking of getting involved Paps? You could do worse than buy a few BTC or ETH and get a feel for the industry. However I would wait until after the fork (circa mid to late Nov for it all to settle down) as it will almost certainly pull back from it's current price. | greendragon777
19/10/2017 22:36 | How are your cryptocurrencies faring, greendragon? I've been looking at the chart of Bitcoin over the last 5 years and the performance has been stellar! There seem to be an awful lot of new crpytocurrencies now available; they are proliferating at a staggering rate! | papillon
19/10/2017 13:37 | Thanks guys. I usually invest in biotech/pharma that has been around for a while and become a bit neglected. Recent examples were OXB and SLN. This is somewhat more risky but it seems to be a safe enough level to enter as papillion says. Mind you ,famous last words' :) | volsung
19/10/2017 12:07 | There's fairly strong support at 20p, volsung, so your timing should be good. AIM listed biotechs as a sector is not loved by investors, hence why AMYT could only get a placing away at a 4p discount to the previous placing despite the intervening good news concerning the EIB loan and Lojuxta deal. Something, unfortunately, shareholders will probably have to live with until the company issues the next bit of good news. When that will be who can know? | papillon
19/10/2017 09:55 | Nice one Volsung, she'll pay you back 10 fold by the end of next year....there'll be lots of lovin' going on then! 😁 | greendragon777
19/10/2017 08:56 | Seems a bit unloved at present so bought some more | volsung
18/10/2017 14:42 | The latest 4 trades for AMYT. A buy of 459 and then 3 sells for 70, 183 & 125 respectively! The pumpers & dumpers have arrived at last! LOL. | papillon
17/10/2017 23:02 | I see there were 3 very large trades timed around midday on Thursday the 12th, but only reported after the market closed yesterday. 2 were for 475,000 shares @ 21p and were done at exactly the same time; it could be the same trade, but reported twice in error? The other one was for 405,525 shares @ 21.05p. Strange! Were they shares bought in the placing, but sold for a quick £4k and £4.75k profit as soon as it was possible? I can't think of any other explanation. | papillon
17/10/2017 12:47 | Well there is chart support at just above 20p. That support held in early April and late August. Will that price provide support this time round? It's not impossible for the AMYT share price to drop below the 20p placing price because that's what happened last year when the share price soon dropped significantly below (just below 14p, in fact) the 24p placing price. I'm not saying that the AMYT share price will fall below 20p, just saying it's not impossible. Retail investors are not interested in presentations; they want "real" positive news. Then you get the momentum traders, rampers and pumpers & dumpers jumping onboard, rapidly pushing up the share price to an overbought position. UKOG is an excellent recent example. PS. I read an article in the Sunday Times about UK biotechs considering floating on Nasdaq because UK investors just don't seem to be interested in them. | papillon
14/10/2017 17:17 | It looks likely, bwd, that the L&G stake was purchased via the placing. In which case the presentation in New York and the most recent one in London probably had no bearing on the L&G purchase. L&G would, no doubt, have received their own, personal, presentation from AMYT as would, no doubt, other institutions as part of the placing process. Whatever the reason behind the L&G purchase the presentations have had literally NO positive effect on the AMYT share price The placing has knocked the stuffing out of the sp! We need some good news to drive the share price up above the 27p resistance in 2017, otherwise we'll just have to be patient and wait until 2018. Why AMYT decided to announce a placing when they did, especially as they still had to draw down 10m Euro's of the EIB loan, is open to question. Perhaps they have another licensing acquisition in mind? Who knows? Only insiders, unfortunately! | papillon
13/10/2017 18:03 | Thanks BWD, I got the RNS alert shortly afterwards. It's all good though, more of the same would be nice! | greendragon777
13/10/2017 17:02 | "Institutional investor, at last. Those presentations paying off!" L&G went over the threshold on the 11th. Looking at the RNS's issued on the 11th, I reckon that L&G took part in the placing like Software AG. | papillon
13/10/2017 16:29 | plus email from the company. | bigwavedave
13/10/2017 16:29 | RNS! (above) | bigwavedave
13/10/2017 16:27 | Sounds good BWD. Where did you see that? | greendragon777
13/10/2017 15:42 | Institutional investor, at last. Those presentations paying off! | bigwavedave
12/10/2017 13:24 | Yes, bwd. It's invariably a good sign when almost all of the BoD buy shares at the same time. It's a vote of confidence in the company prospects. After all there are many, many, AIM companies that raise funds via a placing where the BoD does NOT buy! | papillon
12/10/2017 12:51 | pap - it might be small change to them but it still a buy. I like to see it. | bigwavedave
12/10/2017 10:38 | Always like it when directors show a financial interest. Bought a few more this am | volsung

11/10/2017 17:02 | There's a deramper on the lse bb called radar, bwd. He reckons the money the Directors have spent in the placing is just pocket money to them. He could be right. They've spent around £190k in the placing in total. If only I had that kind of pocket money! LOL. I'd like to add, bwd, but I'm skint; my pocket money only runs to a few quid a month! LOL There could be good news imminent; another licensing deal aka Lojuxta? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? | papillon
11/10/2017 14:24 | Yes, pap. But still maybe one to trade in the meantime. It doesn't take much to move it in either direction. I don't have spare funds so will just have to stay with the waiters. | bigwavedave
11/10/2017 14:20 | I think investors are of the opinion, bwd, that there's no further good news imminent; that we'll have to wait until next year. They could be right. Lots of sells today, some of 100k and above. Back to sleep for me, until we get more (hopefully good) news. | papillon
11/10/2017 14:01 | Thought we might get a tick up. They are doing everything right in terms of PR and now director buying. Somehow, the message does not seem to be getting across. But it will. | bigwavedave |
