A pity that Tanzania is becoming uninvestible with the passing of these new laws. Not good news for Aminex.

"To put that in context, the GDP of Tanzania is only about US$50bn!"

To put that figure of just over $50bn for Tanzania with a 50m+ population into its own context, even England's capital city of unemployment and resent, Liverpool, with a population of no more than 500,000 has a GDP of nearly $66bn.

Sorry warbaby. Posting the article outside of the interfax website would be a copyright violation. This is illegal under British law.

Does anyone have an Interfax subscription or can find the full piece any other way?

For some time I've believed the LNG project to be as good as dead or, at best, no go until late next decade. Indeed, it might well be that in the longer term the best thing for the likes of Aminex would be for one of the majors to pull out on the grounds that Tanzania is no longer a fit place for private sector international investment.

$190bn ? expect they meant Tanzanian Shilling didn't they, and how much would that be?

This is why nobody takes you seriously Dan. A 190 billion charge equivalent to 200 years revenue is hardly small or a "slap on the wrist" (or whatever crude innuendo you're trying to make). To think that this could happen to other companies operating in Tanzania... oh...

Just a small fine and slap on the wrists for Acacia then

Not since consolidation!

"Furthermore, any Shareholder holding fewer than 20 existing ordinary shares as at 24 July 2017 will cease to be a Shareholder of the Company."

That's a million down! diluted over 10 years.

Anybody excited about the SOLO AGM? I hear from reliable sources it will be TODAY and I've got a hunch that there will be some discussion regarding the AEX/SOLO crossover assets. Could be VERY interesting.
