17/5/2017 06:51 | haggismchaggis - WRONG - The warrants had another SIX weeks life left. The Board would have been desperate to avoid this issue being raised before the AGM but Argos would not go along with them for some reason. And if the "day trader" remark was aimed at me I have been here over four years. | theunluckyone
17/5/2017 06:45 | theunluckyone, you are being too emotional it doesn't matter about "good amicable working relationship" now because the loan is all but paid of. Argo are acting out of pure business sense. | blackgold00
17/5/2017 06:37 | ARGO only had a very short time left to exercise their Warrants. The whole point of warrants is they are risk-free. ARGO got their income and took their risk with the loan, the Warrants should be seen as a 'thank you'. If AEX had gone bust since taking the ARGO loan, there was no risk to ARGO with the Warrants. Now that AEX is going well, with gas of national significance in Tanzania, and now confidently talking about targeting oil, it's a no-brainer for ARGO to take the extra risk of investing £1.65m in AEX and holding the stock. This is really a big positive for the stock. The drop is overdone, but it's no big deal, a very very short term blip, something that only a day trader would really give a toss about. Were any of the longs looking to sell this week or next? If not, the drop has no relevance to them.In a few days time we'll all be back to thinking about oil at N3 and this blip will be resigned to history. | haggismchaggis
17/5/2017 06:34 | blackgold - Yes Argo have certainly drained a lot of blood from Aminex in their past dealings but this episode pours water over the Boards claims that they had a very good amicable working relationship with Argo.Just look at the expiration date of the warrants. This whole issue could have been delayed at least a month until after the AGM but Argo appear to have dealt this hammer blow at the time of most embarrassment for the Aminex board !!! This smacks of a breakdown in the relationship between the two Companies and as such I would expect Argo to dump these shares on the market at their earliest opportunity unless of course they have already forward sold them. | theunluckyone
17/5/2017 06:19 | I know it's unlikely this year.. But just shows we need to sort out future commitments and have rig availability. | foolsandcows
17/5/2017 05:54 | that is a good year or more away foolsandcows, they need the seismic, a partner with cash, but above all they need to know there is a root to market and as things stand the LNG root might be many years away. | blackgold00
17/5/2017 05:51 | What rig will go to Tembo? | foolsandcows
17/5/2017 05:39 | yes, Argo has certainly done well out of Aminex so far (extortionate loan), maybe they now think they will make a killing from their new share holding, question is do they sale early for a limited fast bucks or hold for the prospect of further future gains? | blackgold00
17/5/2017 03:51 | Got to hand it to them...... Their timing is interesting....... | thecynical1
17/5/2017 00:24 | Fingers crossed Tembo hits oil! Good for everyone in the basin. | bunbooster2
16/5/2017 21:16 | thanks to vike1, can't say I'm surprised Wentworth Resources Ltd Wentworth Resources Limited : Accelerated Bookbuild To Raise Approximately Us$5.5 Million 16/05/2017 5:25pm "Wentworth Resources Limited ("Wentworth" or the "Company"), the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: WRL) and AIM (AIM: WRL) listed independent, East Africa focused oil and gas company, is pleased to announce its intention to conduct a private placement with institutional investors and certain existing shareholders (the "Private Placement") to raise gross proceeds of approximately US$5.5 million (GBP 4.2 million, NOK 46.3 million)." 16/5/2017 16:04 | Worth noting too that the warrants expired soon, so no real surprise Argo chose to exercise them now.Peter | greyingsurfer |
