Change of Auditor

Amerisur Resources Plc, the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, announces that it has appointed BDO LLP as its auditor following a competitive tender process.

The Audit Committee report in Amerisur's 2017 Annual Report indicated that the Company was likely to tender the audit appointment in light of the long tenure of Grant Thornton, who has been auditor to the Company since 2002. The Audit Committee have conducted a competitive tender in line with best practice guidelines and the Board have approved the Committee's recommendation to appoint BDO LLP, which has a leading mid-market oil and gas audit practice. Further details of the tender process, for which the primary objective was to secure the ongoing provision of a high quality audit service, will be given in the 2018 Annual Report.

BDO LLP will act as auditor for the year ending 31 December 2018. The appointment of BDO LLP as auditor for the following financial year will be subject to approval by shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2019.

Grant Thornton, who did not participate in the tender, has confirmed that there are no circumstances connected with its resignation which it considers should be brought to the attention of members or creditors of the Company.

The Company records its appreciation of the services of Grant Thornton as auditor over many years.
