If what is being said about Rex is correct, the board of directors should decide to do some share buybacks with the large amount of cash the company currently has. If they do that, they will counter the negative effect that Rex's continual share selling is doing to the share price. If the share prices rises, the directors will gain with their share options. However, small shareholders will also gain if the share price rises. If this is a battle of egos between Rex and the directors, the ball is in the directors' court since the share price has been depressed for several months which is what Rex wants!

This could play out for yonks every time there is a small share price rise it's pegged back only thing Rex is interested in is showing up the board and and making certain that while he's around he can control the share price please let someone buy him out it's us small investers that suffer most.

The share price doesnt now react much to one 100k sale because it has already taken account of his previous (c100m) sales over a long-term - it's the cumulative effect. There is also the expectation that RH is selling down to zero, which also continues to suppress sentiment and therefore the share price

"The point I was asking thoughts on was why would he sell now when there appears to be a probable/possible period of good news flow coming up"

It seems he is determined to sell out, at any cost regardless of news flow other than to sell into any stock price strength.

As his continual drip drip evidences.

But short of hearing it from the horse's mouth we are engaging in supposition.

Sorry - probably didn't phrase well.

The point I was asking thoughts on was why would he sell now when there appears to be a probable/possible period of good news flow coming up. I presume he's a businessman.

(my reference to history was the period from 6th Sept back to the previous notification when I think most people would agree was a period of pretty rubbish news flow)

Fanghorn - that's history - why now?

That was only 5 days ago - 6th Sept!

Shows his modus operandi as davwal says.

One 100k trade today - didn't move share price

RH has used the same modus operandi since he started - selling in blocks of mainly 100k. That signature mo continues, as per today.

Fangorn. You be careful giving facts

Although to be fair RHs holding selling or not is becoming less problematically to shareholders and more problematically on the City and others as to when to jump back on board.

@Podgyted

Why, therefore, is the assumption of a quite a few that RH is selling?

Because he is! It isn't an assumption, it's a fact!

6th Sept'18:-"Rex Harbour goes below 3% - sells 2.355m. 34.324m to go!"

20th July'18:-”Rex Harbour sells 3.958m (44.779649m left) Goes below 4%)"

12th Feb'18:-”Mr Rex Harbour reduces stake below 5% - sells 6.579m, 56.215m left”

One thing that does surprise me is the lack of any real volume leading up to Thursdays interim results .

I presume most of us are holding on the hope that there will be good news flow over the next few weeks.

Why, therefore, is the assumption of a quite a few that RH is selling?

I believe most of his holdings were bought @ single digits, so he is still making some good profits even though he is cutting his nose off.

He’d be better served by keeping his holding rather than loosing his dummy.

He disagreed with all the free options being handed out a few years ago and they are still continuing today, allbeit to a lesser degree.

RH is using the slight rise to keep dumping imo nothing for the share price here till we have got rid of him even better news would likely push him to dump faster.
