Couldn't keep it at the lows though, see what happens if we're gifted $50 oil.

Foiled again ,,your memory is good ,,doesn't the anh meet once a month ,,once they have rubber stamped cpo5 as a commercial discovery we should get a rns regarding flow rates during testing ,and what the flow rates are lightly to be once put on production

One can only assume the short-term test result data is now known, given they are proceeding with three contract tenders relating to LTT - presumably with official blessing. The AMER update regarding the STT results must be forthcoming, along with news of the LTT programme.

Everything goes through the ANH first, if its lodged as a new discovery

or perhaps ONGC Videsh do not wish to announce the results at this stage ?

Perhaps they have been asked to wait until the test results are published.

The fact ONGC Videsh are tendering for plant construction to support long term testing seems worthy of an official update from AMER to my mind. This in itself has to be considered a significant event capable of moving the sp, Shirley...?

I believe they know they have a really decent find on CP0-5 and finding light oil sends out good signals that it could be a substantial new find.

Don't expect massive production during testing, as it will often be restricted production and periods the well may not produce to establish the data required, but establishing the resource should prove very useful to ONGC and Amerisur given the acreage.

But it has all the hallmarks of a very decent find.

Also,
"In order to maintain smooth operations in the CPO-5 block, social management is a critical activity in order to establish relationships with the relevant stakeholders established in the area of operation of CPO-5 Block.
This activity is not only a license requirement but also a strategic activity that must be executed aiming to the long-term exploration activities and the sustainability of business. It is also necessary to establish a communication channel with the local community and authorities in the area of CPO-5 block."

Key words here: "Long term exploration."

Interesting leaks in NY Times. In the main its about shale gas, but it shows how hype overtakes reality.

includes some interesting comments on shale oil.

1 You are completely correct about questioning the life of these wells. Our engineers here project these wells out to 20-30 years of production and in my mind that has yet to be proven as viable. In fact I'm quite skeptical of it myself when you see the % decline in the first year of production. In some of the wells they are great wells and will provide significantly for that length of time, but some of these wells die off rapidly. So while I'm sure you will be producing these small wells in 20 years, I dont necessarily count 40-50bbls a day as real production.
