I've seen the size of Dells specs. He can actually see haleys comet when it is furthest from this galaxy with them...so i'm sure the small print on a d6 ramp would be no trouble.

davidcod - I'm not surprised you are supporting the rampers, as a previous holder of this stock. You must be laughing your bits off.
The thread title does not make it adequately clear that the initial 10p drop is ex-div pure and simple.
Reading it more carefully, doesn't improve it....

ian,

One thing to consider before shorting is a point I have already made, and that is the directors may decide to use the "shell", and do a reversal. This in it's own right could add quite a bit of value.

My fair value assessment of the remnants was 7p. I agree with you that with the properties still unsold, the price looks fully/over valued.

I had looked at selling at 5.5p, but noticed the volume ticking up, and with comments starting to emerge on here, I put off my sale. I started selling at 6p, and averaged in a T trade 6.4p.

Absolutely delighted I move on, but will continue to monitor this board for a couple of days.

ianreid, it's the way the markets are at the moment. Any share that moves heavily in either direction seems to immediately attract traders who then buy with little or no regard for what they're buying. I presume this strategy is working at the moment 'cos there's a lot of people doing it. And I wouldn't be surprised if there are some people who think they'd get the divi...we've had a couple on here after all. There's a lot of new 'investors' around at the moment who think it's easy to make money on the markets (and to some extent it is right now) and are trading without really knowing what they're doing.

Wow, I called this one badly ... I sold this morning at 4.5p thinking that I'd done well 11.1p Divi (ISA) and 4.5p!!

By my calcs value remaining is:
1.1+1.72 = 2.82m = 12p cash (23.46m shares)
Cost of divi £2.5m leaving about 1.35p/share
Still to collect 120k (0.5p) from sale of business and sale of property - that's the unknown but in books at 975k so say 1m (=4.25p)
So should still be 6.1p modulo differences in property sale price and closing costs - let's say 5p.

Of course the big unknown is the property value, but given the time it's taken I'm not too hopeful.

I'm staggered that people are still buying up to 7.5p ... what am I missing? I don't see anything else except perhaps the property is going to come in at a significnat premium to book and no closing costs?

Surely it's not people thinking that they will still get the divi - they will not it's XD.
Oh and the confusion over whether sellers will ... yes they will. Today is XD, 19th is register date (largely irrelevant but the extra time is given to ensure that your name gets onto the register).

Grateful for any enlightenment, before I short this one!!

dell - I can categorically assure you that I have NOT edited my original thread. I don't even hold any shares - just highlighting the share - doubt me if you want.

Have a look at harrogate Group - read the results - let me know your valuable thoughts...

(email me please ??)

Why did you emphasise the 65% fall then?
Looks like some late editing, after you realised, to me but then I am a cynic.
LOL!

Come on Amberley - you can do it especially if you can fork out such a large dividend you have the power!!

The 740285 was a sell. My sell.

Unless there is going to be a "shell" operation here(a possibility), I can see no reason for buying the shares. The NAV is going to be 7p tops, and that is if they can sell the properties at book value. They have been on the market for months, and still haven't been sold.

Happy to be out at 6.4p, but somebody may know more than me.

Good luck to all.

tebear, he's wrong. I am absolutely definite about that. Sell if you want to with no worries. And if you're still concerned then why not 'phone your broker? They'll be able to confirm what I've said.
