Market sees Altyn as a company with 30m mcap plus 30m debt. Revenue c.20m, but a very small profit. So you have a 60m company that delivers a tiny profit. 110p is a fair share price to me unless they deliver something unexpected.

Just by way of a bit of backgound. Prior to Altyn , Kanat Assaubeyev was president of Kazakhgold which was listed in London in 2005. It was run by the family again as main shareholders.

Subsequent, he managed this tie up so it does show he has some form in doing deals across the pond and how things might play out

Barrick Gold Corporation

A framework agreement was signed with Barrick Gold on 23 September 2005, to
cooperate with exploration projects in Kazakhstan and central Asia. Barrick Gold
will benefit from access to new properties in the region, while KazakhGold will
have access to explore and develop certain of Barrick Gold's resources. It is
anticipated that the tenders won in December 2005, for exploration properties in
Eastern and Central Kazakhstan, will be acquired, explored and developed under
this agreement through a joint venture company, in which Kazakhaltyn and Barrick
Gold will each have a 50 per cent interest. Final details of this are expected
to be concluded in 2006.

KazakhGold's joint venture agreement with Barrick Gold Corporation also covers
the exploration of territories in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The
partners will take part in tenders to acquire the rights to explore sites in
these areas. The investment in exploration works will be carried out in
conjunction with Barrick Gold Corporation.

GGP and ALTN are polar opposites.

GGP are being carried to success and have an army of followers who love the company and can see no risk, and arguably their mkt cap is a huge bubble.

ALTN are loss making and having to grind out a living unloved with barely a dozen followers, and the share price is vastly under valued as a result.

This year GGP will come back to reality, as will ALTN.

GGP should be valued at maybe £300m-£400m while so should ALTN in a year or two.

To some extent VISH65 but when the difference is 50 times (as it has been) then it does stretch the bounds somewhat. I do think that ALTN is as lowly valued as I have ever seen it considering the recent access to funding. Hats off to them if they can't make it work now. That would be world class incompetence!

It is... but it also explainable beyond the inefficiencies of the market.

There are many contributors around management style ,PR , share structure , location etc...

But it probably boils down to one simple idea that whatever resources are in the ground (including those still to be measured) the 'perception ' is that one is run (or partnered) with mining professionals who will extract the gold for a healthy profit /return while the other is 'actually' run by a bunch of amateurs who will extract the gold for a loss.

Hopefully for us that is in the process of changing !

The Bond prospectus clearly shows the major shareholder converted at £3 a share which is encouraging for investors. It would only take a couple of decent RNS statements for this to get back to those levels given the gold price.

Q1 results are usually produced in early March, it will be interesting to see how the share price responds ahead of these numbers.

In 2016, the Company secured a total of US$10m proceeds from a convertible loan with the major shareholder, African Resources Limited. In January 2018 the Bondholders elected to convert US$9.7m of the Bond into ordinary shares of the Company at the conversion price of 3p (now £3) per share, resulting in the issue of 233,333,333 (now 2.33m) new ordinary shares being issued to African Resources Limited.

....talking of bombshell

Agoldplc assets exist on the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site.
To be more exact 'former ' nuclear test site of the USSR finally announced as safe in 2012. It does appear there is or has been gold mining done among other minerals aswell

hxxps://caravanistan.com/kazakhstan/north/semey/kurchatov-polygon/

"The STS territory is rich in minerals: in particular, there are large deposits of coal, gold, nickel, iron and copper as well as tungsten and molybdenum. On top of that, large areas have illegally been in use as grazing lands for a while now. Although the reclamation of the STS is still constrained, both by its legal status and its negative image, mining has been taking place here since the early 2000’s: fluorite, copper, gold, molybdenum, manganese, sand-gravel and coal. Prospecting is taking place and it is expected more mining operations will follow."

The assaubayevs go wherever they can fund their various vehicles hence having to issue bonds on the AIX recently.

Their LSE listing has to date served absolutely zero purpose so trying to second guess these guys is almost impossible.

Unfortunately their reputation proceeds them which is why we don’t have a single institution on the register.

Clearly we are all here for the size of the potential prize but I cannot deny the possibility of waking up to that bombshell rns a la Kemin resources.

Would an ambitious global company choose to list on a minnow stock market with only 23 companies on it?

AGold was registered in Hungary in 2020 with budapest address so looks more than a simple test site.

Whether or not it has anything to do with Altyn is anyone’s guess. Proximity of the assets ( if exist ) offer some obvious synergies.

There is of course the possibility of a listing on the BSE.

Something is pending on the corporate front I am sure.

Oh yes absolutely. Agold has many holes in it.Supposedly spending millions on this and yet can't find the funds for Altyn ? Key question is do these assets actually exist (anywhere) and be verified?. The Kazahkgold /Po!yus Gold debacle in 2010 for $0.5b bln saw the transfer of many Kazah gold assets back and forth to settle their dispute. The family have many fingers in many pies.

I'll keep digging

Genuine question: Is there a miner that can leverage something approaching the Kazakh cost base to make the financials work (and generate a sensible ROCE) at this level of underground gold grade?.It would be good to take a look at a comparable miner which may provide insight to what ALTN could become in several years time.

We've known all along that ALTN will need significant cash injection to facilitate phase ll development, several hundred million dollars in fact.

We don't know how they will achieve this.

Obviously the open pit operation enabled the company to survive and do a little work, but the current development is likely to enable us to leverage increased production...eventually, when they get it sorted...and maybe this will mitigate the need for excessive loans or dilution as we can self fund to a point. A logical plan following a longer route but the rewards will be greater for holders still here at the end.

Plus we'll hopefully have TS coming on line in a year or two.
