Surely if they need to raise cash for personal reasons that doesn't change the fundamentals of ALTN and in fact could result in the family looking for a takeover of the company, and that would be great for us?

JC2706. Post tax acknowledged. Too tired at the time to try and work out + assumed accumulated losses to tax will mean a tax holiday for some time. You get my drift re: the indicative calculation... Because of the huge reserves and decades LOM, it should be reasonable to use PE metrics, albeit , the asset valuation should start to come into play as this increasingly becomes an asset takeover play..

The controlling family are almost back to break even. They might just possibly choose to release a few shares above 3p, say 50M, to improve liquidity and narrow the spread to make it more attractive to investors. But I'm pretty sure that the overwhelming majority of their shares will be staying in their hands for fat divis in around 3 years' time, or until an eventual takeover at far far higher prices... NAI etc

OT. The 0.66p conversion price has been repriced in the latest debt restructuring. It's now a 10% discount to the share price approx at the time the creditor informs EQT they want to convert the debt. But there is a catch! They can't convert the debt as it takes them above a 30% holding ceiling, which is not allowed by the Irish Takeover Code. So conversion will only occur if there is an equity raise which the creditor doesn't participate in or, more likely, a takeover by a third party. So while there are lots of warrants unexercised, most will only get issued once there is a takeover. It's true EQT has little turnover currently, but they have a ginormous prospective order book. If the orders come off, especially the Billingham project, the share price will double or more in the ensuing auction, hence the current momentum.

The license expires at end of June and requires renewal in July. Supposedly a formality, but there is no such thing until it's in the bag So, things to look forward to near term... Milling report Equipment arrival Confirmation of mining license Progress at TS open pit project Drilling results Takeover offer All of the above are possible, but not many are likely in May. I expect the t traders, and other short term punters to sell off, while the longer term value investors will be waiting for opportunities. No idea who will have the upper hand next week, or in the next month, but spread is so wide it's not worth selling to try buying back cheaper.

Someone mentioned takeover...and that got me thinking... 2 x CPR's, why? Due diligence, for ths bank I think they said, really? Extensive drilling last year and this, excessive drilling for the current plan? Phase 2 cap ex $200m+, who's gonna lend these that? So, my opinion...this is getting packaged for sale, there's no way these have the skills and resources to go to phase 2 alone, so they intend to delineate, expand the r and r, and sell, clear as day!

Listed companies are so listed because they want access to capital markets, ie cash. They do PR to sell their story, sell their shares usually in anticipation of a discounted placing, or sometimes to fend off an unwanted takeover. No PR usually mean no dilution by placing. They do release periodic detailed reports as required by the authorities. They did of course raise cash recently, but not using their listed status, they chose bonds and bank loans, presumably because they didn't want any dilution. All very positive in a business sense, and in a sector that is set to soar.
