Alstom : support à 45.1.

Sur les 5 derniers jours, le titre a peu évolué, gagnant 0.78%. Depuis le début de l'année, il est en hausse de 0.08%.

Du point de vue de l'analyse technique : le RSI est supérieur à sa zone de neutralité des 50. Le MACD est supérieur à sa ligne de signal et positif. La configuration est haussière à court terme. Enfin, le titre est inférieur à sa moyenne mobile 50 jours.
A noter que les volumes sont en baisse depuis quelques jours.

Graphiquement : les niveaux de résistances se situent sur : 51.1 puis 52. Tandis que les prochains supports sont sur : 46.3 puis 45.1.

Notre préférence : Tendance baissière sur Alstom (ALO) mais reprise possible à court terme vers 51.1.

Le point d'invalidation de notre scénario est situé sur : 52.

PARIS (Dow Jones)--French industrial group Alstom SA's (ALO.FR) balance sheet will remain solid after the EUR2.3 billion purchase of Areva SA's (ALO.FR) power transmission business, Alstom Chief Executive Patrick Kron tells financial publication Le Revenu in an interview.

"We will finance it through our liquidities and by debt," Kron says in an advance copy of Le Revenu's latest edition, dated Jan. 22.

"Our balance sheet will remain solid after the operation," he adds.

Kron also says Alstom would have to call on its shareholders to help fund any other "significant" acquisition but that no such deal is on the cards right now.

Kron also confirms that the company aims progressively to increase its rate of dividend distribution.

Furthermore, he also reconfirms the company's fiscal full-year guidance for operating profit to be 9% of sales in March 2010, which is the end of the company's fiscal year. Alstom last confirmed its guidance on Tuesday, when it reported third-quarter sales and orders.

Alstom SA, the power-station equipment and train maker said third quarter sales rose 3% to €4.69 billion from €4.56 billion a year ago. Orders fell 31% to €4.2 billion from €6.1 billion a year ago. Power business received orders fell 31% to €2.7 billion from €3.9 billion a year ago. Transport business orders fell 27% to €1.6 billion from €2.2 billion in a year ago.

For nine months sales rose 6.7% to €14.4 billion from €13.5 billion a year ago. Orders fell 47% to €11.4 billion from €21.5 billion a year ago. Power business received orders fell 47.5% to €7.4 billion from €14.1 billion a year ago. Transport business orders fell 46% to €4 billion from €7.4 billion in a year ago.

Alstom SA, in the last one year traded as high as €55.14 in January 2010 and as low as €33.38 in January 2009. Based on the yesterday's closing price of €51.59 the company has market cap of €15.02 billion.

French Government Picks Alstom-Schneider For Areva T&D Unit -Report





PARIS -(Dow Jones)- The agency that manages the French state's corporate holdings has selected a partnership of Alstom SA (ALO.FR) and Schneider Electric SA (SU.FR) as its preferred bidder for the power transmission and distribution unit of Areva (CEI.FR), online information service Wansquare reports Monday.

A spokesman for the French finance ministry declined to comment on the report.

The French state owns over 90% of Areva.

Alstom Gets EUR40 Million German Train Contract





PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French power and transport engineering firm Alstom SA (ALO.FR) Thursday said it received an order from the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn Regio for 16 trains for a total amount of more than EUR40 million.

In a press statement, the company said the trains, scheduled for use in December 2011, will be built in its Salzgitter, Germany factory.

China expansion:



Alstom has decided to expand its investments in China and plans to set up new factories there in 2009, said Patrick Kron, the company's Chairman and CEO.

Alstom's new factory established for Wuhan Boiler Company will be built and put into operation in the suburbs of Wuhan in the second half of this year, becoming Alstom's largest boiler factory in the world. Additionally, Tianjin Alstom Hydro Company is also constructing new workshops and factory buildings.

Kron noted that the 4 trillion yuan stimulus package launched by China's central government also includes investments in environment-friendly infrastructure, which means a favorable investing environment and enormous business opportunities for Alstom.

Alstom SA (ALO FP): The engineering group and its partners won a 6.8 billion-riyal ($1.8 billion) contract to build a 444- kilometer (276-mile) railway in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Gazette reported. The shares gained 2.28 euros, or 5.3 percent, to 44.64 euros.

Alstom shares gained 3.7% in Paris as the French power systems and transport firm said third-quarter sales totaled EUR4.6 billion, up 11% compared with the same point a year ago. Orders booked in the quarter totaled EUR6.1 billion, a level Alstom termed "very satisfactory." "All the focus is on orders and here the number was well ahead of consensus," noted Merrill Lynch analysts.
