Agree. Looking strong currently, and 200p an important hurdle to clear.

Oops, ignore my (post 999) price comparison, as on a rereading I realise that they haven't purchased SiFive, but a part of it. Apologies.

"Alphawave has agreed to acquire OpenFive, a SiFive business unit, bringing OpenFive's high-speed connectivity system-on-chip (SoC) IP portfolio and a proven team based in India and Silicon Valley that has been delivering custom silicon solutions for over 15 years."

I like today's announcement not only for the enhancement it provides to AWE's technical scope, but also the illustration it gives of their ambition and the scale of their operations.

It seems to me that the forces acting on the share price at present do so irrespective of AWE's activities and the building of their business. Little that PIs can do about it at present, but I don't see that situation continuing long-term.

So how do those numbers compare with existing forecasts? If using cash on the balance sheet and no new share issue or equity raise, and this is immediately EPS enhancing, then do those numbers show an upgrade

The Alphawave webcast on the acquisition at 4pm was very upbeat. Lots to absorb from my point of view.
A certain amount of the presentation was above my head, as a "techie" I am not! Yet the message that the growth story has been accelerated came through loud and clear with some impressive numbers being banded around.

So we shall see whether that message attracts any interest. Full year figures to be announced in five weeks apparently.

Well, I liked today's announcement although it seems no one really cares. Time will tell whether the revenue projections(reprinted in in para 3 below) come good by which time maybe there will be some interest . That is presuming there is some point to a UK listing

"
OpenFive's proven silicon development team enables Alphawave to offer leading edge data centre and networking custom silicon solutions as well as enhancing its chiplet design capabilities. This accelerates Alphawave's strategic goal to scale revenues by monetising its leading connectivity IP not only through IP licensing but advanced custom silicon design.

-- The combination of Alphawave's leading high-speed connectivity with OpenFive's IP portfolio is expected to generate material revenue synergies through bundling of IP and integrated IP sub-systems as well as leveraging the two companies' respective strengths to win complex custom silicon design wins at leading edge process nodes.

-- The transaction will be immediately EPS accretive to Alphawave. Forecast FY 2023 revenue for the combined group is anticipated to reach between US$325m to US$360m with a path to a yearly revenue run rate of over US$500m in 2024. 2023 adjusted EBITDA margins for the group are expected to be between 32-36% with 2025 adjusted EBITDA margins between 40-45% as revenues exceed US$500m."

Ironic that despite the share price going essentially nowhere these past view months it's quickly becoming one of my best performers.... Lol! Any idea why these stocks are being seen as safe havens right now when everything else is tanking. I get why cybersecurity might be in vogue but this?

only bit of Blue across 3 portfolios this morning, Think i,m in for an even bigger hammering when US markets open, too late to top slice so think I shall adopt the Ostrich syndrome until things turn around :) It will pass, it always does, just depends on the timescales,I don't need the money for 5 or 6 years so hopefully back to a nice profit by then.

The fundamentals that attracted me:

Great turnover, profit and eps growth. High ROCE; lots of cash. Forecast P/E for 2023 dropping to 15.9 compared to 105 in 2020. The January trading update looked strong and the February Intel partnership announcement presumably an exciting positive? However, admittedly, none of this squares up with the dreadful chart performance - though it does look as if a Stage 1 consolidation could be getting ready to morph into a Stage 2?

I understand there has been shorting interest, but perhaps shorts closing now?

Arguably worth noting, too - insiders bought much higher:

I bought in here on the bell, and turning out to be interesting price action since, considefring such a weak market day.

A close above 200p will be very constructive.
