50% fall on a FT article, clearly some City forces at play, it’s all a game really, just need to know what’s going to happen before it happens, only a select few know how the game works.

Rns out, seems a much a do about nothing if you ask me, up tomorrow is my guess.

For sure if Bad Robot turns up to short after the main event, you know it’s time to buy lol

Bit like BUMP too BR, where the CEO sold 623k at 295p in the IPO a couple of months ago. BUMP now 191.25p having warned last week that "trading in the second quarter has been more challenging than the Board anticipated". So much more challenging than anticipated two months ago!

Doing a search for news on Alphawave I can't find anything other than this morning's FT article (which somehow also appeared in California News Times and Todayuknews).

A bit odd that such a drop hasn't been mentioned in the press yet?

Yes, three main holders each sold 17.42m shares at the IPO at 410p. Bear that in mind when you see their gesture buying disclosures in the next day or two!

@Typo56, thanks a lot for the clarity on the auction process - I have L2 but don't participate in DMA trading so I'm not aware of exactly how it works. Saw the buys lining up at 180p post auction close, I actually wondered if they were from the shorters...

And @The Big Fella, very glad my thoughts were helpful, I agree that these boards can be excellent when people post constructively. I certainly didn't foresee a fall like this happening though, if I had I wouldn't have bought at £3.30 in the first place! A real eye opener and it's made me reassess my risk elsewhere.

The question is does this now offer value? £1.2b market cap, they had $516m of cash at 30/06, so around £390m, that gives an EV of £810m vs forecast 2021 revenue of $75m / £55m. So it's still on an EV / Sales ratio of 14. Not cheap.

I think it all depends on the companies reaction. If they come out fighting and buy material amounts of shares (the three founders each sold £68m shares in the IPO at £4.10 for goodness sake!) then maybe. I'd also like to see the shorts start to reduce. Let's see.

I would add that your kind of research is what these boards should be all about (many years ago they were) rather than the constant ramping / deramping with no basis.

It doesn't look good when the company has to think so hard about the form of words.

Trading wasn't suspended by market makers at 16:21. It was suspended by LSE static price monitoring, triggering an early closing auction (price monitoring breaches after 16:20 go straight into closing call period).

There wasn't a single buyer at 175p. There were multiple buyers in the SETS auction uncrossing at 180.4p. Market markers didn't go out looking for them!

The 'shed load of trades' are because there was still about 500k volume on the buy side after the uncrossing. Trading can continue off the SETS book at the uncrossing price for a few minutes after the uncrossing.
