27/8/2015 11:53 | just mentioned on alphaville | elcapital
27/8/2015 11:16 | broker upgrade out too. | r ball
27/8/2015 10:17 | "Possible NASDAQ listing as US Govt. would not be keen for this co. to have a purely London listing." US government doesn't know the company even exists, and if it did it couldn't care less. | hpcg
27/8/2015 08:21 | No. Look at:- Sales are not the driver here. Its the increase in value of IP and possible second/third round funding uptakes. Mark Pritchard has stepped down but has not sold a single share even when the price was £7.00+ Wide range of IP and potential IP. Possible NASDAQ listing as US Govt. would not be keen for this co. to have a purely London listing. IMHO, DYOR | r ball
27/8/2015 07:38 | So, what do you think to the results then? Increased losses, a load of blurb in the report and not much substance. Still short... Regards | mrwhits1
26/8/2015 17:00 | Looks like a very well defined downward channel to trade within. Not safe to be short as who knows what fancy metrics may be wheeled out to demonstrate "your company continues to make great progress". | hpcg
26/8/2015 16:06 | results tomorrow. expect a deluge of RNSs. | r ball
18/8/2015 20:18 | maybe not. I can foresee a Nasdaq listing-the us govt would not be happy to have a lot of US IP held by a London listed co. | r ball
17/8/2015 13:39 | @R Ball, sure you don't mean 50p? regards | mrwhits1
09/8/2015 17:34 | Mr Ball - you're a fantasist | skinwalker
03/8/2015 10:13 | £50 target based on STT and Fed Wireless. | r ball
16/7/2015 13:47 | Continuing my run of "research" into what makes up Allied Minds blow.... And this from their other "big name IP" company - Federated Wireless - sort of sounds like a ex Gov't organisation with top secret technology.? No. But quite high on the BS meter: Federated Wireless A new age of wireless. Space-time-frequency exploitations are reaching the point of diminishing returns incapable of supporting the required growth for fifth generation (5G) cellular. builds on its in-house expertise in cognitive radio by leveraging advanced analytics to optimizing the flow of data. Spare me days 5G! can't even get 3G working well enough might as well skip 4G. The law of diminishing returns will definitely apply for this. And some for later Whitewood Encryption Systems Inc - Think Zergo RF Biocidics - worried about patient anxiety And many other companies yet to explain exactly what they do. | liquidkid
16/7/2015 12:40 | nice 20,000 buy earlier maybe 470 was a good entry point- damn! | tipjunkie
16/7/2015 12:38 | alphaville chaps still like it anyhow BE So, where to begin. PM Well there is Allied Minds! PM Hit by a comet or something PM No, I have no news! PM Is it the Simon Cawkwell band? PM I don’t know BE He’s stopped tweeting, it appears. Assuming it was actually him: PM Hmm — no intel on Allied Minds PM I still think it’s a great opportunity Emoticon | tipjunkie
16/7/2015 10:38 | I think this is actually a potentially very good long term investment, just a question of finding the right entry point. One on the watchlist. | mad foetus
16/7/2015 10:09 | that downward trend on the chart looks pretty well established- it will take some pretty good news to reverse that imho good short call from 690 by the way | tipjunkie
16/7/2015 08:42 | Fair enough sir. Seems my long was poorly timed! | funkmasterp12
16/7/2015 08:34 | FunkmasterP12 - I am short because valuation stretched since IPO. This is no AFR/QPP basket case. | dasv
15/7/2015 19:03 | Had a long punt here today. Checked the thread after and was surprised to see you short dasv! Each to their own though, well done if you called this down from 690p.Not invested on fundamentals here, purely the speculative elements. Happy to get out if it goes south, but think there's something here imo. A funky intuition =) | funkmasterp12
15/7/2015 16:38 | I'ld love to get back into this but there's no obvious entry point at the mo | tipjunkie
15/7/2015 15:47 | El C - yes still short. Alphaville boys are in love with this share and don't listen to any negatives. Yes there is a take-out potential to the IP. But try telling that to NLG shareholders who bought in there at 300p and still hold. ALM has a vast spread of IP too. But that also means it has a vast spread of outgoing costs with no incoming revenue. If you say the share price could go up x fold because IP could be valued higher, it also follows that the share price could half because the market could value the IP lower: i.e. the market can't value the company on normal metrics. Therefore the price could be anything, but it certainly is not supported by sales, free cash flow, a dividend or earnings. It is only supported by contingent, possible future events - i.e. IP purchase/takeout events which may or may not occur. The valuation metric is therefore "how long is a piece of string?" So in the absence of fundamentals, the market uses technicals. I called the top pretty well at 690p imo. My experience of shorting AFR this year has taught me to trade on known facts not on what-if edge cases. | dasv
15/7/2015 13:35 | All the tork is about Spin-transfer technology which initself is a funny sounding name and therefore warrants further investigation. So I found this from Wiki "Spin-transfer torque technology has the potential to make possible MRAM devices combining low current requirements and reduced cost; however, the amount of current needed to reorient the magnetization is at present too high for most commercial applications, and the reduction of this current density alone is the basis for current academic research in spin electronics" The key words there are "Too high..for commercial application." Sounds like the boffins at Uni could spin this out for many more years to come. Any revenue will be as distant as a zip a de doo drive. | liquidkid
15/7/2015 13:18 | £50 target. Stick it min an ISA as the CGT gain could be considerable. | r ball
15/7/2015 12:44 | worth a read, hxxp://www.shareprop makes a good case for the downside IMHO. regards mrwhits. disclosure - short ALM.L | mrwhits1
15/7/2015 12:31 | Hpcg I think that's about right. The issue with ALM I guess is that at its current market cap some considerable success is already baked in. | hydrus |
