26/11/2017 12:35 | From Otis77 on 3iii What i like about this particular company is that the risk is not all focused on one particular drill or mine. It's completely diversified, we have a stake in a major UK onshore oil through 'Horse Hill' and 'Brockham' with news in the near future. For me i'm more interested in what is happening in Greenland where next door to us BlueJay mining has increased it's share price a massive 1566% over the last two years. I actually think the most recent broker target share price of 7p is conservative given the potential here. Alba's Executive Chairman, George Frangeskides, commented: "These results are excellent and fully justify our decision to move into the heavy mineral sands arena with our 100% owned Thule project. Compare the weighted average Total Heavy Mineral content of 46.7% at our Thule project with a number of advanced mineral sands projects around the world - Mutamba (3.9% THM), Moma (3.2% THM), Iluka (7% THM as an average across their projects) and the comparison is a very favourable one." "Of course the most obvious comparison to make is with the Dundas Project being rapidly advanced by AIM-listed Bluejay Mining Plc (current market capitalisation approximately £187 million) just a few kilometres from our Thule Project. Bluejay's current JORC inferred resource is 23.6mt grading 34.5% THM and bearing 8.8% ilmenite in-situ with a high-grade zone of 7.9mt grading 14.2% ilmenite. While we are not yet in a position to quote JORC compliant resource figures at Thule, our verified assay results, collected over a large sample area, which confirm a THM content of 46.7% and an in-situ ilmenite content averaging 10.0% and ranging from 5.7% to 14.9%, certainly do not suffer by comparison against Bluejay's figures." "These results give us great confidence as we seek to fast-track our work at Thule in the close season and as we prepare to head into a significant field season in 2018." | 25wbh
25/11/2017 12:26 | I'm sure that the reason for the weak share price is DOUBT..... doubt that the weald may not become the gusher that has been touted. there have been delays, there have been setbacks (ANGS at Lidsey), but until one of the players starts producing serious volumes from any of the layers then that doubt will remain. that said, one might have thought that Greenland prospects would have been giving ALBA a bit of a boost, but as has been pointed out all of these are early days. | backmarker
