8trader - I think the wording of their results indicates that the dividend may not be as high as you are hoping.

They say that they seek to embark on a "progressive" dividend policy.

Doesn't this imply that they intend to start off with a fairly low dividend and then progressively increase it in later years? If they start paying out a high percentage of their profits then they wouldn't leave themselves much room for progression.

That is good to see. He really had it in for the board at last year's AGM about returning cash to shareholders. They obviously took note and he is happy. A reminder of the relevant bit from the results:

As a result of its sustained underlying profitability, the Group has continued to generate significant cash. However, the cumulative exceptional charges associated with goodwill balances leave the Group with a significant deficit in distributable reserves which, if left unaddressed will inhibit the ability to pay dividends in the future. In order to rectify this anomaly, the Board is investigating ways in which the Group may be able to distribute cash to its shareholders. The Group expects to announce a proposal to restructure its share premium account and thereby position the Group with distributable reserves in due course.
Should the measures the Directors are considering be successful, the Board will seek to embark on a progressive dividend policy.

Good to see Peter Long picking up the odd 25K; now holding over 2 million!

Obviously he sees more value than the market, as do I!

Patience.

Gravy-From your share selections(TND/AMU)etc,you like value.I am pretty excited about ILX and am building up a good holding.Someone is dumping them currently and investors are able,as a rule of thumb, over recent days,to buy the stock at below the middle price. To me it looks as though the P/E will drop below 3 in the year ending 03/09.Just look at their impressive growth over the past few years.Cheers anyway. No offence meant with TND by the way.It looks as though their "Bennie"driver is the business-and that is a turn up in my book!!

I'm sure one day that same herd will be chasing up Amu when it breaks
100p and 150p !

All Amu has to do is maintain the turnover and margins and with the strong
cashflow all it will need is another 18 months to reach the market cap in
cash, 18 months is a long time of course but Amu seem to doing everything
fine while others struggle and for every smaller retailer that closes due
to the credit crunch etc it leaves more for those who survive.

I must admit that when i see the same old faces hysterically chasing up the price of this weeks must have stock I do think sometimes that I should just give up on stock picking and just join the pack as I watch the price go up for days on end as new suckers are dragged in but I just can't do it.

I'd much rather succeed off my own back as its more satisfying but sometimes its just so slow coming to fruition.

Good.

When i see rubbish stocks go up 100% in 2 days i cant help feel that Amu
is long overdue a re-rating or at least a fair price of at least 80p short term.

It will happen one day.

For anyone interested in short term pressures the online limits are the strongest I've seen for an age:

max 7.5k to buy at 59.5 v 20k+ to sell at 57.5.

Somebody give the shares a kick. My small caps have been going bonkers this week. (There have been a few small takeovers which probably hasn't doen any harm to sentiment along with the oil price.)

Only a matter of time before someone else has a pop at AMU; it's not everyone who has to borrow to acquire!

Meanwhile, this is terrific value on fundamentals.

Quite happy to rest some of my capital here for a few months.

I notice that TND cancelled their share preium account today in order to be able to pay a dividend. Can't see that it would be any problem in AMU's case as TND is only a littl'un as well so cant be that expensive to do.

NetDimensions (NETD)

Share price of 6.25p and Cash of 11.5p. Market cap around £1.5M.
Profitable (just) at last results if you ignore AIM listing costs.

You'll have me unfiltered again in no time - it's the only way you'll make money Hate Trader - I'm flattered tho.

Can't wait to chat again when you unfilter me :-)

Nope, I never claim to be wonderful at all - show me where I've said that. You must just think I'm wonderful.

Market has changed Hate Trader, I told you - punters scared to pay the small cap spread then see their buys go down and be well out of pocket. The larger SETs stocks has been where it's at for months - I did try to explain - perhaps you weren't listening as usual, you were just preparing whatever carp about me that you can in your mind to write your reply rather than read the message.

All I've pointed out is you always say you are filtering me and then I'm unfiltered - the only reason for that can be either you love my posts or you need to read them to get good leads Hate Trader. I just cannot see any other reason why you keep unfiltering me. Feel free to explain your reason.

edmundshaw - yep, you might be up 5% and have the skill at picking to be up but the AIM sector is currently flowing against the buyer - AIM up 0.13% today, it was down until about 4.20pm. Since the bounce 2 days ago AIM is up 0.6%. FTSE250 is up 10% in two days.

Umm?? My portfolio is mostly AIM but has outperformed the FTSE 100 by 5% over the last 3 weeks (ie since my last regular portfolio evaluation point).

AIM vs large cap is a red herring IMO. Sectors and individual stock picks (preferably without debt) are a better rule IMO.

I warned you - all the larger caps rocketing while your micro caps are stuffed and stuck - AIM index is down.

Keep me unfiltered Hate Trader or you'll go bust !
