21/10/2016 13:50 | Isn't that what normally happens with stocks that are actively traded by algos/bots? | brummy_git
21/10/2016 13:02 | At some point Yes. But this is coming down hard and fast... | zcaprd7
21/10/2016 07:18 | Schlumberger said this morning at its Q3'16 results, that it has seen "increased fracturing activity on land in North America" - which hopefully should have a positive read-across for Aggreko's oil/gas/refining rental and power divisions. | brummy_git
20/10/2016 18:57 | Agreed. I hope they take their time, as I don't have cash to top up just yet... | zcaprd7
20/10/2016 16:56 | overdone here after DB dump, chartists may take it to 800p, due for bounce afterwards | chutes01
20/10/2016 16:47 | My thoughts exactly zcaprd7. By the way, any boost from US shale drilling would easily reverse today's slide. Indeed last night Halliburton, the US oil services group, said "it was benefitting from increased activity in North America, and expected a continued rise in drilling in the region." CEO Dave Lesar adding “Things are getting better for us and our customers.” | brummy_git
20/10/2016 16:24 | The Turkish crowd seem to be a completely difference animal to aggreko. I'm not quite sure the broker knows what he's talking about. Especially to equate market size to power deployed, they deploy floating power stations for heavens sake? That's like comparing aggreko to Drax... | zcaprd7
20/10/2016 12:00 | Remember too that Aggreko is a favourite for Algos/Bots & other computer trading programs - hence the large daily swings. IMO, if there's a buy rating slapped on the stock tomorrow, then the shares would rebound - perhaps even by a similar amount. Long term though earnings will smooth out the volatility | brummy_git
20/10/2016 11:48 | Aggreko has a fundamental problem which is to do with the bribery act. A lot of their potential business is in corrupt countries and since the UK dramatically tightened laws and ramped up penalties it makes it very difficult for the likes of Aggreko to win new business without having the ability to bribe the relevant officials. I recently started working for a large industrial multinational in a middle management level role and the amount of online and offline training I was required to take concerning compliance is unbelievable considering I am never going to be in a position to award any work to outside contractors. If it returns to the 780 area again I would look to take a stake but not before then. | salpara111
20/10/2016 11:48 | Sigh. Looks like I have to top up again. Retest of £8? | zcaprd7
20/10/2016 11:43 | Perhaps they should merge? | zcaprd7
20/10/2016 10:46 | Down we go again. What a dog! | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 20:20 | Nice announcement today regarding dupont... Wish I hadn't visited their website though - every other advert is for hiring a generator now! | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 19:50 | Yes, but a lot of volume today, highest for a year... | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 14:47 | Hope and reality are 2 different things | brummy_git
18/10/2016 14:38 | I would have thought a centralised deal across all of aggreko's generators in the UK, to utilise their client's downtime, would be more appropriate. But not enough to justify a 5% share price increase. I'm hoping it's corporate action. I've been waiting for them to split the company in two... Perhaps a trade sale. | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 14:26 | Yes - so more opportunities to rent them out? | brummy_git
18/10/2016 14:09 | I don't think they sell generators. They buy them, and lease them out, no? | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 13:50 | More power generators required - with added possibility that other countries may follow suit - should translate into greater demand and higher profits? | brummy_git
18/10/2016 13:39 | How does that impact aggreko? Customers can offset their fees, or does aggreko have a central agreement to let their generators get used by the grid? How many generators do they have in the UK? | zcaprd7
18/10/2016 13:34 | I suspect share price rise today is all about the UK deciding to subsidise diesel/gas generators to help keep the lights on - ie to replace coal fire power stations which are being decommissoned over the next six years. | brummy_git
18/10/2016 11:02 | Some news? | zcaprd7
04/10/2016 13:41 | This is the biggest dog in my portfolio. Any thoughts on averaging down, or getting rid? | zcaprd7
01/9/2016 12:25 | Morning all. Bought a few of these today. | penycae |
