Investor's Chronicle ( 2nd. Dececember ) suggests that AG Barr could be a take-over target for Britvic following Britvic's forth-coming flotation.

Can't trace any news either. Thinly traded stock - so 41,000 t/o in stock to-day is relatively large for Barr but couldn't imagine that this alone would cause the 21% spike.

Personally, I have always viewed Barr with their very strong balance sheet and interesting stable of branded soft-drinks including Irn-Bru as a take-over target. Fingers crossed.

Because enough potential investors see the quality and buy - and holders don't want to sell a quality stock. My only whinge is that if I had spotted this company last year I'd be sitting on a whopping gain now. However 5% in 6 weeks in a weak market ain't bad, plus 2% dividend in the BAG!
