Using Android (ICS) on a phone.
Doesn't look like a connection problem as other apps/internet are fine and phone network speed is typically ~3Mb/s. Also often some of the data comes up but not other parts e.g. the chart is there but the price/volume is blank or vice versa.

Hi On Target, are you using the Android app or the iOS one? Also, are you on a phone or a tablet?

If the data doesn't come up, it's likely to be a connection problem. I would try connecting via wifi to get a faster connection.

We have disabled or stripped out most html to make the boards load faster, meaning that charts will not appear. We are considering adding a toggle to allow you to load html if you want, but it is likely to cause problems on the small screen, so we are still umming and arring about it.

You can in fact turn the phone on it's side to get a different style of quote page. It also reveals a Charts button, which you can hit to see a dedicated charts page with a bigger chart.

Would also be a good feature if you could turn the device on its side on the quotes page and see an enlarged chart. Also a dedicated chart page.

Cambium, There is a pull down refresh on the thread list. Touch the screen and slide your finger downwards, then release to refresh the list.

killing_time, you can use the old version of the mobile site via if you would like. You can save that link to your Home Screen for easy access if you'd like.

looneytune, the app is completely free, you only need to pay if you want to use premium features like Level 2. We're not trying to con you, I promise!

killing_time, it sounds like you might be using ADVFN via a browser, rather than the new app. If you have a 3rd generation iPod touch or higher, you may want to consider plugging it into your computer and upgrading the OS to at least iOS 4.3 via iTunes, so you can download the new app. Can you send me a screenshot to [e-mail], so I can work out exactly how you are using ADVFN on your iPod?

Hi John, i can no longer enter any of the ADVFN website with my old ipod.
I can open the home page then evey button i hit like free bb the DMT advert appears and blocks my path.

Hi John, having trouble entering the free bb with my ipod, just keep getting DMT advert. Will keep trying then get back to you.

One thing i noticed was that i cannot down load your new app because my ipod is not high enough speck, maybe this has something to do with no back button but will keep looking then get back.

The app is great, just a couple of minor issues so far.

- Sometimes price and volume and/or charts don't display on the quotes page and a restart of the app is required
- Charts/tables etc don't show in threads, e.g. the 'main post'

glynedwards, you should be able to log in on the iPad or any device, regardless of where you were last logged in. Can you send me a screenshot of the no entry message you're seeing? I'm afraid i don't recognise it.

killing_time, there should be a button at the top left that will take you back to the boards you were previously looking at. If you came from your list of favourites, you will be taken back to that list, if you came fro the list of boards for a particular stock, you will be taken back there. What happens when you hit the button at the top left of the thread you're looking at?

Hi John,

On my ipod Touch their is no back button so if i am in my favorites page and log onto a company when i have finished on that page i have to press Free BB then press favorites again to get to my next company.

The real problem with no back button is that if you hit an advert you have to come out of the ADVFN website altogether then go back in and start again.

Like many users i look at ADVFN on whatever device I happen to be on at the time. Last night I was on my home computer and then shut it down (but didnt log out of ADVFN). This morning the App on the ipad says I cant be on two devices at the same time. On the web based systems there isn't a problem, it offers you a log in screen and away you go. The App just says no entry.

GazHutch & minime76, To get access to the live prices or Level 2 on your sub you do need the Mobile Access sub, which is £5/month exc VAT (£6 with tax). I'm afraid it is not free for Level 2 subscribers. Give Mike a call on 0207 0700 961, he may be able to work something out for you.

STONETHECROW, if you save this link to your home screen you will be able to carry on using the old version of the mobile app - . What kind of iPhone do you have? If it is a 3GS or any higher, you can update the OS and start using the new app if you'd like.

sandbag, that'll be fixed in the next update, thanks for pointing it out.

RJD123, you're right, the Monitor selector tool should really disappear once you've selected the monitor or toplist you're after. I've added that to the list of changes. I think it makes sense to go to the quote page for the stock whose news you've been looking at when you hit back. I'd be interested to hear what other people think though. Does anyone have an opinion about this?

dugfresh, thanks for the update about the bug on the iPhone. We have crash reports for that and should be able to get it fixed in the next update. For the time being, it seems that if you wait for the prices to load, you won't get a crash when you hit the Boards button.

killing_time, can you give me a bit more info on where you think the back button is lacking?

Hi, really good that the app has been upgraded and now is alot better than the old one.
Only one problem in my view is that there is no back button which is a problem if you want to go in and out of your favorites, or if you tap the wrong part of the page you have to go to the opening page and start again.

When you are viewing the monitor and click the news icon you go straight to the news but when you click back it takes you back to that stock and not back to the monitor?

Bug - Keyboard doesn't come up when you hit "New Post"

If it gives a blank screen try tapping it just once. That brings my keyboard up.

Hi. Just got the app and think its great so far. Really disappointed that you have to pay extra for L2 even though I already subscribe to L2? It's not made clear in the email either. Connected the link and was asked to stump up £66! Surely this should be free to L2 subscribers?
