Ash,

I was wondering this morning if the PBB would be useful for mining investors. I'll wonder about something a bit less controversial next time - Palestine or Northern Ireland, perhaps.

NickB,

I was unaware that Gausie and Dead Cat Bounce were shorting mining stocks, could you ask them to sell some more please?

I hope they know what they are doing in the mining sector, because in a bull run in quality counter cyclicals, it can be very dangerous to take a short position on resource stocks which are going into production, against the 90 or so institutional investors looking to buy into these kind of stocks.

Which shares are they short on?

OK so let's get this straight, Ashley. Your interest seems to be in long term buy and hold, particularly of the subset of mining stocks. You come across the PBB, where people are happily talking about other things (e.g. charts, trading). You think that that is wrong, they should be talking about LTBH of mining stocks. How very broad minded of you :-)

I agree with your sentiments re PBB, there really isn't a lot of activity, and anything of any interest has to go on the FBB to gain maximum attention.

The one exception however, is the Trader's Thread, which as I do a bit of spread betting, I find very useful, for ideas etc. There are some good posts on there from some knowledgeable people.

But for the Trader's thread, I would have cancelled by now.

ADVFN need to look at the PBB, and try and add some value IMHO.

There is a lot of VERY experienced market players posting on the PBB
if they are shorting your stock because the chart says they should then you should take notice of that, not get upset.

Much better off on the FBB where he can discuss "resource" companies whose only assets are a hole in the ground.
