Not sure there is anything behind todays rise other than the MM realising that we are approaching payout time. Online limits would support that view with only 15k on bid and 150k available on the offer. About bloody time we had an update though and some firm dates.

Still max. 3 months to go before the pay out. Still a long time to wait. Hope some good news from the judge to approve the pay-out by the end of January 08.

Dollar strengthening means we will get more cash, in both payments should be nudging towards 34p no brainer at this price, all cash.

They managed to make from weeks now months! Do not think there will be a second pay out of the 2p, maybe a reverse takeover from a company that wants to get listed on the AIM for a low price, so those 2p can be more... This will be the best case senario at this moment. Was hoping for December for the pay back, now it's H1 so they actually mean March 2008. What about the intrest on the money till then? some hidden costs?

The maths looks quite good... 21268 shares for £5914.31 (and that includes commission and stamp duty) means i'll get back £6525.17 from the first payout alone (or a profit of 10.3%) assuming payout level is 30.17p at current exchange rates levels. A second payout of 2p/share will give me an extra £425.36 profit or 7.2%, giving me a net profit of 17.5% over 6 months at most, with very little risk.

Well price 27/28 and people still selling? I agree with the 30p initial payment, and 2p after that. Assuming that the funds are held in US dollars, then if the dollar weakens vs sterling then those values will go down... but BoE has indicated that UK rates will fall next year so not expecting sterling to appreciate much vs dollar, if at all...

chrisdgb - There isn't a lot im looking to add to at the moment although I did pick up some LDC this morning. Ive got a few trading positions where I am in like SDL, PHP and RCG. NSR put out a profits warning today and I think they are oversold. Again that is a short term trading position more than anything. I also picked up some GLA a couple of months ago which will liquidate and return cash soon. I did pick up some BES yesterday just thinking about it as well as some MDC earlier this week. BES look like they have good turnaround potential and MDC are usually on the end of some very clumsy director buying outside of closed periods. Im hoping history repeats itself on that score again but I don't know if I would be a buyer here. I picked mine up at 3.6p and am looking for 5p+. SYG look attractive on 2009 forecasts and I am looking to add but will probably do so on any move lower. Not bad entry level to pick up an initial stake though.

Thanks for the numbers - I will simply hold and wait for the distribution - still a good 10% on today's prices for very little risk. Better than a bank account.

If most of the cash is now in £ and the cash continues to earn interest, the total return (excluding the escrow amount) should not be less than ~33p/share. But my goodness, aren't they just draging their feet. They are still only 'preparing' the court application...

So depending on exchange rates, looks to be initial distribution of 30p, then knocking some cost off, another 2p...pure cash Market will probably be 28-30p. Would be good if Landisbanki do their job as broker and just accumulate stock on book.

A little surprised we haven't had our news yet. Could end up coming out in the next couple of days instead. I spoke to Orna yesterday and she told me that it is unlikely anything will come of the approaches the company has received. Her criterion to any interested parties is that unless they can offer a cash return greater than what the company is likely to achieve via liquidation, she is not interested. Retaining the shell after distributing all the cash is unlikely. Whats left to resolve is how much cash is left and when we are going to get it. Announcement should give us a better steer on both those points.

Thanks for the heads up, would be great to get a clear breakdown of expected return, probably too much to hope for though at this stage since there will still be a few unknown costs. Best news would be if the extra £0.5m due next year would cover them and free the whole current balance to be returned.
