shammytime. I should get rid of your crystal ball. Obviously it isn't any good at predicting share price movements.

My long term investment, seems doomed to never achieve its potential. Al least that's the way it seems.

OK ... no reflection on the share price, but Arriva Malta preferred bidder to operate all bus services in Malta for 10 years.

Ariiva 66% interest in Arriva Malta

I contacted Arriva - they said 'the details of the offer are a matter for DB, and anyway it has now been voted on'

So i contacted DB - they said ' we asked Arriva's Board about a loan note alternative - they said it wasn't needed'

so there you have it - our Board thinking about us

Quiet board for one for a company under offer (technically it's not, but I'll ignore that for the moment).
To the point; there doesn't seem to be any loan note alternative, or any other way to mitigate CGT? Do I understand correctly?

When we deregulated and privatised the bus and train services the level playing field finished. But the German public can not lose or make money by investing in their major transport operator.

How come the Germans can take over Arriva but we can`t take over the German company.
Because they are state owned.

Where is the level playing field ???

Hamster

I thought that but you would be pretty pushed to prove that it is insider dealing.

The options cannot be exercised until 2013 and if the company is taken over before that date one asumes the options are null and void.

For a company to be taken over the taking over company only has to buy shares not options however it may have an influence on the existing board as to whether they are prepared to recommend any offer.

Also the options are dependent on performance.

Am I right in thinking that issuing £3.5m worth of share options
to directors the day before announcing a take-over approach is
not strictly Kosher?
