Abrdn Takeover Rumours (ABDN)

Its going to be interesting if SP is around this level on xd day, we could see new lows being found. I will be tempted to average down in the 130's, has to be a takeover target at that price. I'd echo the sentiments of others regarding the CEO's performance, changing the name was ludicrous and made him look a bit silly. wllm :)

I have an idea When the share price goes up to 231 the price when the Bird Brain hatched his much lauded takeover of II only then would the board of directors from Flint downwards qualify for the proposed bonuses this year. It is a kick in the teeth for those investors who have been hamstrung by the stupidity of the current crop of idiots intent on enriching themselves at the expense of the ordinary workers losing their jobs and us investors

At 150p this share has to be worth a punt. Divi is tasty ( if it is not cancelled) and there’s always the possibility of a takeover.

Spud: I feel for you. If the adherents to the wonder of BB's were not still in hibernation awaiting the slightest, consistent rise in the SP to cause a spring-like awakening they'd tell you, Spud, that a BB benefits you. I, on the other hand, believe the only benefit is the exit route provided to those wanting (desperately) to sell as there's a willing buyer in the shape of the company itself. I presume you haven't sold during the BB phase? I wonder if Abrdn are trying to fatten-up Interactive Inv. with their tasty introductory offers with a view to selling it, or, as a tempter for a complete takeover of the whole group. Does anyone know if there have beenn any new appointees to the board? If so, any of those got a track record with previous companies being taken over? Just a thought.

If it goes down a significant amount I will be tempted to buy back in. When all said and done this is a company that's been around for years. It has history. It has (some) decent staff. It is a takeover target - if only for the AUM still within. Do a cuckoo and kick the unfledged bird out and get some decent management in here.

BlackRock have 48,000,000 units of borrowed stock on this one (£77.5m). I suspect the 4.6% total short interest here is buggering things up. All we need now is a takeover rumour to surface and we’d be up close to £2 imo. spud
