I read somewhere the other day that, at the floatation price, Silverlake have made a return of x13 their original investment. As APEF are a small part of this group I am still hopeful that the NAV here has not been updated and will await the interim report before deciding whether to move on.

jaws6, it's worth noting that while Alibaba is good headline news, bearing in mind the Russian situation, there could be be some give on the Avito valuation perhaps? Just a thought...

I see that in the Manager's Monthly Report for July 2014, it states that post-month end Alibaba's valuation has been raised to $140Bn. On that basis the NAV for August should show an increase although I can't find out what the present valuation for Alibaba is.

The only comment I have found is that Silverlake's original investment valued Alibaba at $32Bn.

Thanks Skyship, your reply is appreciated. Appears someone was buying as share price was down 1.5p when I looked this morning but ended the day up 0.75p. Will wait and see if they go lower before considering again.

Not a fan. At the 77p offer price the NAV discount = 25.4%. Higher than most others, but it needs to be to reflect the poor portfolio performance and the lower level of maturing assets.

True the share price seems to be carving out a base; but currently can't envisage progress beyond 80p.

Current offer price of 74.5p so a discount to NAV of around 28%.

APEF report the y/e NAV at 100.67p; DOWN from 102.39p the previous year, a decline of 1.68% in a rising Market. Pretty appalling really! Sympathies with any holders...
