There really is very little free float in ABDP.

Combined II holding is roughly 37% of shares in issue

Mr Best & his wife still hold a significant chunk close to 30%

It’s not surprising that the share price moves around a lot on small trades.

Interesting rise of about 10% over the past week ahead of half year figures next week.

sturmey-i take your analysis on board-like you i am invested for the long haul- at one point maybe a year ago, artemis and unicorn aim vcts sold/ or took profits- i was lucky i didnt follow them althought i was invested in the said vcts- i prefer an asending chart and not the volatility which often masks the quality of the company. i would welcome your comments at each update before markets open since you sound very relaxed and obviously more skilled at analysis

Does it matter? I would be curious to know why you think it matters. And it is nothing to do with the company and directors. I'm a long-term holder of ABDP and what matters to me is the financial performance and the long-term trend of the share price.

Same again. 43 shares at 2290p in the closing auction leaves us just 10p down, in spite of no other transactions all day above 2220p. I predict a big fall at opening tomorrow.

I don't think it is up to the company to do anything about it, least of all comment. It's not their doing.

surely the company and directors must have noticed this - why on earth can't they comment?

The share price tends to spike up or down at the end of the day based on dubious transactions in the closing auction. For instance, the closing price of 2300p on Friday related to a transaction involving just 11 shares and was way above any other price paid that day. The opening this morning was just back in line with the "real" price on Friday.

I have no idea why this happens; it may be a glitch in the system, it may be some kind of price manipulation by market participants, e.g. to trigger stop losses. I see it on other small cap companies, but not with the frequency or scale that we see for ABDP.

All I can think is spooked by Tesla issues over weekend but tenuous link at best...

What is happening to the share price?

There is no consistency and far too much volatility!!

Hi all,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast last week and we have a Special Guest Star in the form of Tim Rogers, who was the former CEO at ABDP. He gives loads of insights into the likely future for the Car Market and also gives some background etc. around ABDP. As always we also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management. Sadly we didn’t get time to chat about Tim’s classic motorcycle collection !!

Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast, Google+ or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 45) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, with the intent being that it is like you are eavesdropping on us having a chat down the local boozer (we can dream !!).

Cheers, WD

EC, there was that but IMHO one of the big bits was the increase in forward earnings, 17% by my calcs with only max c5% of market cap paid to buy it. Should add over £2 to the target price.

It will boost recurring revenue and I think this is part of a tactical move to offer testing as a service on the West Coast of America, using the Vadotech business model, expertise and industry recognised name.

Longer term rewards I guess, investor interest muted so far, probably due to general equity markets looking toppy on the back of rising 10 yr treasury yields not helping.
Will stay on the sidelines to see if any major buying comes in here over the coming months

That does look a decent acquisition, significantly increasing their presence and scale in Asia and, most notably, China.

Short term down, if AB completely steps down, seems likely, he’s 84 and not of good health then it wouldn’t surprise me if an overseas predator or two enter the arena with some opening bids

Longer term could go back to 2500/3000 if bids come in.

Might tuck a few away for that possible scenario but would like to get in @1600/1700 area if the market allows

To add a bit more meat to my previous post and Piedro's.

For a while ADAS systems have been under development in the automotive industry and ABD has been at the forefront of developing systems to test these developments.

The ZalaZone contract and now the European Commission Contract show what I hope is a developing trend for ABD becoming the sole supplier of equipment to meet the increasing need for ADAS testing.

I understand that soon ADAS testing will be a requirement under EuroNcap and the like.

This should hopefully drive revenue, with ABD uniquely positioned to supply a complete package of products.
