25/7/2018 09:51 | I'm so glad I took my profits when I did but not so clever re-entering at an average around 270p. I would never have believed it would drop this far, indeed I was only hopeful when I sold and said I would buy back in at 285p. Others thought that wouldn't happen. I wonder now just how much further this could fall and what might happen if the results are only average. There has always been a distinct lack of news here so the results are key to direction it would seem. Hope for an improvement soon. regards | peaeff

02/6/2018 19:32 | Trent, in addition to the FOB change in 2020, gaming duty is also expected to rise from 15% to 25%. If the rate were to increase to 20%, analysts estimate cash profits at 888 would be worst hit with a fall of 7%. This compares to 2% for Paddy Power Betfair, 3% for William Hill, 2% for GVC and 3% for Rank Group. | coxsmn
18/5/2018 08:18 | Agree with shaker you need to stay in 888 now and wait for the inevitable it’s been a bride in waiting for years now.....it will go soon. | finkie
17/5/2018 10:05 | Odd early action given 888s massively limited exposure to FOBTs (like none). Such a simple trade but missed it also | trentendboy
17/5/2018 09:47 | But what you may miss out on is a takeover which some seem to feel is more likely now. I would sell if I had better ideas what to buy with the proceeds! | shaker44
17/5/2018 09:30 | TEB Firstly my post 12517 reads "a couple of months" and I said that because I can't see anything, at present, to cause the share price to escalate further, immediately. The news in itself was the driver because we've been waiting a long time for the USA to open up. However there will no doubt be some form of delay whilst things get under way and further time before any benefit hits anyone's bottom line. Therefore I have taken the view that there COULD be a fall back in share price If I'm wrong, my loss but I'm certainly not joking. Regards PS Had I been awake earlier I could have returned at 287p. I wouldn't have argues about 2p. Missed opportunity. | peaeff
17/5/2018 08:24 | SBC - In order to cover any negative impact on the public finances, and to protect funding for vital public services, this change will be linked to an increase in Remote Gaming Duty, paid by online gaming operators, at the relevant Budget. | loganair
17/5/2018 08:11 | Obviously the fobt decision has knocked all gaming shares but I can’t see why 888 is suffering, they don’t have any! A buying opportunity as it’s back down below 300p but America is opening up so overall prospects better... | finkie
16/5/2018 18:40 | Quiet for a few months? It is rising because as you can see from paddy power consolidation will really kick on ahead of US opening.888 always in play but now will really speed up.Quiet? Must be joking | trentendboy
15/5/2018 08:38 | Took a very nice profit first thing as IMO this could now go quiet for a couple of months. I was kicking myself for not selling the last time it topped £3 so I wasn't going to miss this opportunity. I shall be looking to re-enter around 285p should it go that low. GLA | peaeff
14/5/2018 20:38 | New Jersey, which brought the case before the Supreme Court last July, is expected to be the first state top take advantage of the ruling. Bookies William Hill, GVC Holdings and online gaming companies Playtech and Sportech will be the main beneficiaries, said analysts at Whitman Howard. However, Paddy Power Betfair and Sportech shares were up 10% on Monday, compared to 9% for Hills and 5% for GVC, and 2% for Playtech. "The US Supreme Court struck down the federal law that bars gambling on individual sporting events in most of the country in a ruling likely to unleash a race among the states to attract billions of dollars in legal wagers." The analysts added: "Sports gambling could begin in a matter of weeks in casinos and racetracks in New Jersey, which instigated the legal fight by repealing its gambling prohibition." | coxsmn
