05/3/2020 10:18 | Yeah, would think virus would have less impact on 888 than others. You never know everybody may stay in and play poker and bingo😂 | oohrogerpalmer
05/3/2020 10:07 | The drop has started in earnest last May and then capitulated 2/1/20 and now coronavirus has started to bite albeit almost every quoted company is being hit. Methinks the shorting and constant drop was a deliberate effort to kick 888 out of the FTSE250 as happened previously and the selling of large holdings of directors shares last year (if I recall) The approaching Final Results should reveal t/o $550+m with a profit maybe touching£45m as they said in January gone expectations for last year were expected to be met. Sport only accounts for 16% of profit although hefty if cv9 takes hold throughout the World most income still comes from casino betting. (Stuck indoors quarantine may bizarrely hedge other losses) debt free cash in bank of c$110m and still profitable...so far and paying a dividend of c6/7c (maybe another one off though doubt it like last yearof 2c) The drop seems way overdone in my opinion. However although relegated from FTSE250 now IF there is any doubt about dividend pay out in future then I think this will plummet more. As an aside I think mergers or unesxpected bids may come about if other Gaming cos suffer if their over reliant sports income is decimated. Just my thoughts | larsson5
05/3/2020 09:37 | Yeah, poker was the 888 trump card (excuse the pun) in the past but that's been on the decline over the last few years. Can't see 888 being of any interest to any of the bigger boys now. What's incredibly frustrating with investing is the ability to sell. I had my finger on the sell button when it reached £3 and i didnt , yet since then I could have sold at any price below that yet have just watched it fall into oblivion. Even now I'm still holding, clinging on to the hope it will recover. WHY I ask !!!!! Greed or fear , I suspect both. | oohrogerpalmer
05/3/2020 08:56 | When 888 lost out to GVC in buy Bwin the writing was already on the wall for 888. Then when 888 refused the bid from WMH that was basically it for 888 as 888 as become an ever increasingly small player and it seems to me they're now too small for another gaming company to buy. I can not see one good reason why for example GVC would want to buy 888 as 888 would really bring nothing to GVC's table. | loganair
05/3/2020 08:18 | Lost our place in the Ftse250 now. Can't see anything on the horizon that will stop this slide!!!!!! | oohrogerpalmer
04/3/2020 17:57 | Sounds look football will be shutting down in Italy, Cheltenham is looking dodgy if Euros or the Olympics get cancelled 888 will take a pounding WMH will be even worse. | oneillshaun
04/3/2020 13:51 | Paa65 - if it sticks around long term it will be horrific for 888 sporting events will get cancelled costing the company millions, thinking about if euros and the Olympics get cancelled the sporting calendar for 2020 is destroyed add in football fixtures being cancelled. | oneillshaun
04/3/2020 13:33 | Corona virus will be good for 888.Lots of people staying at home, bored and looking for something to do. Online gambling. | paa65
04/3/2020 13:28 | firming up here......... | chrisdgb
04/3/2020 09:42 | OK, cheers......a bid will be preferable! | chrisdgb
04/3/2020 09:37 | No 24th , maybe they will pull the trigger on buybacks... | kael
04/3/2020 09:33 | Results next week...??? | chrisdgb
03/3/2020 17:11 | Not looking good. Surely someone sees some value here. | kael
02/3/2020 13:39 | awful............ | chrisdgb
26/2/2020 08:35 | Well the management appear to be quite happy to watch this drop into oblivion!!!! | oohrogerpalmer
24/2/2020 09:33 | I can see of no good reason why GVC would wish to pick uo 888. By missing out to GVC when it came to Bwin and not being taken over by WMH as they were asking to higher price it seems to me 888 have missed the boat and are now too small a fish in the pond. | loganair
24/2/2020 08:43 | Feels like this is going to head to 100p at that point i think GVC will just slide in in a pick it up for 130p a share. | oneillshaun
21/2/2020 09:26 | Management have dropped the ball massively with 888. Changes needed or just get the thing sold while they can still get a good price if they persist with doing nothing organically. | trentendboy
21/2/2020 09:19 | Seems a million years ago since we were heading up towards £3 and fighting off T/O talks. Whats worse is that the management don't appear to be bothered about it and we seem to be getting left behind against all the other gaming companies. We need some massive news to get this out of this current slumber. | oohrogerpalmer
21/2/2020 08:59 | I've added at about 129.5. It's possible it's found support at 128.5, although I had 126-127 as a likely target. Just have to wait and see I guess. | stupmy
20/2/2020 15:59 | real head scratcher......... | chrisdgb
20/2/2020 15:51 | Could this be a double bottom ? | prettygreen
20/2/2020 14:02 | Just rude not to pick up at this price. | oneillshaun
18/2/2020 10:56 | I think the share price will now challenge the 126/127 area. I'll be watching to see whether there are bullish signs around that level and may buy more if there are. | stupmy |
