28/4/2017 11:32 | Contacted by Music Ally this morning, 7digital CEO Simon Cole confirmed that the partnership is not being replaced."To confirm the announcement we made two weeks ago, we've just re-signed a deal with Musical.ly, extending the number of territories," said Cole. "We are unaffected by any other deals they may be doing with third parties, and that we will earn more money from Musical.ly this year than we did last year." | hausofmaus
28/4/2017 11:31 | TIDM7DIG RNS Number : 3886C 7digital Group PLC 13 April 2017 13 April 2017 7digital Group plc ("7digital" or "the Company") Musical.ly renewal, Ubithings contract win and acquisition of FlowRadio(R) 7digital (AIM:7DIG), the global leader in end-to-end digital music solutions, is pleased to announce it has renewed its agreement with musical.ly, one of the world's fastest growing social video networks. The new contract doubles the number of territories in which 7digital will provide access to music for the musical.ly service, extending its reach from 30 to 60 territories around the world. The Company has also signed a deal with French startup Ubithings SAS to power a subscription streaming service for an initial term of 3 years. The service will be used with Ubithings' innovative smart audio player Prizm (www.meetprizm.com), now available in France with further territories to follow, which selects music according to the moods and tastes of the people in the room. These deals will contribute to 7digital's revenues for 2017. In addition, 7digital announces that it has agreed to acquire the FlowRadio(R) technology, platform and customers from Imagination Technologies Group plc. FlowRadio(R) is an internet radio aggregation service which offers instant access to over 25,000 stations worldwide. 7digital signed an agreement in 2015 to license the FlowRadio(R) technology and platform internationally on behalf of Imagination. The commercial terms are confidential but, as part of the acquisition, 7digital will be acquiring responsibility for three staff and all current contracts from IMG. FlowRadio(R) is also expected to contribute to the Company's 2017 revenues. Further to the announcement on 10(th) March regarding agreed heads of terms with MediaMarktSaturn, 7digital's acquisition of 24-7 Entertainment is progressing as expected. If the acquisition completes, it is expected that it will materially strengthen revenues from 2017 and be earnings enhancing in 2018. Simon Cole, CEO of 7digital, commented: "We believe the future of a broader digital music industry is in adapting to new modes of consumption - whether that is through apps like musical.ly where users share and engage with music, or by tapping into the connected home and using new interfaces to ensure music fits easily into consumers' busy lives. The acquisition of FlowRadio(R) ensures we have access on our platform to live streams and listen-again content from every major world radio station, enabling us to support and deliver seamless listening experiences to consumers, in-car and as part of the connected home." 28/4/2017 10:47 | Gives you some idea of the value of Musical.ly | pet lover
27/4/2017 15:08 | No problem | michaelmouse
27/4/2017 15:07 | Appreciated M M. So in other words they gain both from each extra terrotory, plus i presume they have a clause in the contracts that is based on usage. So there is a correlation between the numbers of users and revenue which is good in the case of musical.ly. | tiger60
27/4/2017 14:59 | 7 Dig has the contract with Musical.ly, that I personally value at more than the market cap of 7 Dig. Put another way the contract only needs to produce £750,000 a year. It might do just that, within months. It has also opened the Chinese market, hence this weeks trade mission. | pet lover
27/4/2017 14:53 | I don't think anybody or anything could help you tbh monte1 ;) | michaelmouse
27/4/2017 14:50 | It doesn't - but thanks anyway. | monte1
27/4/2017 14:48 | tiger60 post 2238 - "What is the revenue flow with musical.ly? What extra licensing fees come with the expansion from 30 to 60 countries? I presume volumes are irrelevant?" I've just been browsing some of the latest posts and came across the one above from tiger60. Whilst the company are clearly not going to disclose the exact revenue stream from individual clients, I can give you some idea regarding their charges to services such as musical.ly. Essentially 7Digital charge a fixed monthly fee for their services and API. However, they charge a new fixed monthly fee for each new territory added. For companies like musical.ly which are rapidly expanding their user numbers and where 7Digital clearly have to deal with larger traffic numbers they also charge for additional bandwidth. One can assume that the newly negotiated contract with musical.ly where they have doubled the number of territories from 30 to 60 is highly significant. It would appear Miton are of a similar mind. Gross margins currently stand at 71%, although it is my understanding that they will continue to climb higher. I hope this helps. As always aimho. | michaelmouse

On Android, Musical.ly sits around the top 25 apps downloaded on Google Play. | pet lover

26/4/2017 08:26 | 7dig is extremely well placed to grow at the same rate of its customers. | pet lover
26/4/2017 08:24 | Take a look at the price YouTube pays for its music. 7dig also pays a tiny amount as like YouTube they pay for music on a different model than the pure streaming services do. Restrictions are placed on how many times a song can be played, within a period of time, and a host of others. The record companies work with 7Dig to steer listeners to other pure streaming services, advertising, rewards and so on. Some companies require cheap music as part of the service they offer. Examples would be music in shops, Musical.ly and Electric Jukebox. | pet lover
