Too negative, guys.

MD said at meeting very happy with the level of commercial interest, and that a lot of people close to signing.

Cash burn way down.

And the possibility of outsized profits in medium future, as stated above.

Anyway, personally willing to follow the institutions on this one. They always are closer to management than mug punters.

Bluebelle,

Good post - every word of which I agree with. Thanks.

Bluebelle

23041 Good post.

There was a time when I recall Wendy placing her prayer mat at the feet of PA.

In my opinion it won't ever succeed on AIM and I wouldn't consider buying under any circumstances while Brooks is still connected.

metamick - try buying 2.8 million in the market and see what price you get.
bluebelle - can think of a few shares that applies to - many of which i have held for far too long

It was one of my old posts I cut and pasted from a few years back !!! That's the great thing about TDM : no original thought is ever needed : the only thing that changes is the date (oh, and the share price, normally downwards !)

nice piece bluebelle - if you had posted that earlier I wouldn't have remortgaged and put the lot into 3DM

ah well - nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Seems to me that this deal is just more of the same. The plain fact of the matter is that companies cannot exist in the long term without more cash coming in than is going out, a simple fact which seems never to have impinged on the thinking of the people who are really running this company. Those people -incredibly - have not changed since the blue sky days, other than that PA - who always struck me as the ultimate example of a guy who thought he had built a better, well the best, mousetrap and was happy to wait for the world to beat a path to his door - is no longer involved day to day.

Instead of focusing on sales and marketing the focus has been on doing intellectually satisfying, legally clever, predominantly incestuous deals from which those who were party to the incest stood to benefit rather more than other PIs. The thing they overlooked was that no matter how much you dress things up, without sales you're stuffed, unless of course you can sell the IP to some one who thinks they can sell it for more than you personally paid to generate it (by using shareholders' funds to do so for you for example!).

It's up to anyone to do what they want with their own money, but my take on the current situation is that this is an even more speculative investment than it has ever been, the only difference perhaps being that the risk is more transparent. The time to buy, if it comes, will be at a much higher price from now IMHO, on the basis of some conventional sales and profit figures. If they manage that, there will still be plenty to go for in the share price. If they don't....................................

....is it finally time to say 'good bye' to an old friend.................

Incredible !
A 40% share dilution and people think that is good news !
The 1,000,000 seller obviously didn't.

Shame the price dropped through support today.

Then make sure the odds are in your favour...and never trust an expert - even they can get it wrong. Gordon Brown does it all the time.

I reconsider my strategy every time my birthday comes around (59 next Sunday - no cards please, I'm sensitive).

The older I get, the more cautious I become. If you throw your money away when you're twenty-one you have time to get it back again...although it's better not to throw it away in the first place :-)

LOL John. you've always been 12 months away from buying (turns out you're a shrewd cookie eh) 12 months or 12 years! 3DM have a contribution to make to this recycling nightmare. The UK today, the world tomorrow.

Then again I'm slightly biased :0)

Roch' relax; you and most others only know what's been divulged to date.
I suspect there's more to follow.
DYOR IMHO and all that :0)

I agree with Rochdale.

If enough people start "piling in", on expectations of faster progress, a few institutions will be "piling out" as soon as they see a nice little profit. A bird in the hand and all that stuff.

I think it will be quite a while before substantial royalties roll in, and if I remember correctly, the royalty percentages have now been reduced in many cases, so a healthy turnover from the manufacturers is needed to make it all worthwhile.

As yet, no dedicated production line is up and running. The nearest one seems to be Ecosheet, and that is still 12 months away from start up - assuming there are no delays.

I'll consider buying in 12 months...and that depends on another manufacturer deciding to order some machinery (and preferably an independent company).

on the face of it securing funding at a reasonable level considering the economic environment and getting the cornell monkey off their back is a positive but I still do not see us being any nearer to solid sales news - there is a long way to go here I am afraid

time to baton down the hatches and stock up on essentials

As I recall, the noble PHRC, of blessed memory stated that the Cornell loan was for encapsulistion and pipelines.

I understand that both of these are on track and the best estimate of fruition on both is 12 - 18 months.

If these come to fruition, there will be a ocean of cash coming to TDM

I suspect this is what attracts the institutions.

I have recently joined them by piling in again.

wdurham, .... and allow the company to get on with the commercial deals rather than looking over their shoulder worrying about funds/share price all of the time.

Indeed, potem - nowhere near as bad as I expected. Not as much dilution as I thought, and at a reasonable price, too.

But they must have plans to raise a good deal more in the future, or the authorised share cap would not have been raised to such an extent, nor would they have sought authorisation to issue at least 112 million shares over and above the AGM authorisation.

I recall a comment made by Paul Haines (the PIM inventor) last year - he said to me "You can put your faith in the process, Wendy, but not necessarily in 3DM."

Seems he was right. It is true that the Cornell facility kept them afloat, because there just hasn't been any money. But the cost has been high.

At least this new deal will put the shares in safe hands (or surely the "white knights" wouldn't have bothered?) and stop the steady flow of large sells into the market.

4.88p! So nasty rumours at 3p or less confounded. Getting rid of Cornell can only be seen as positive.
