08/5/2005 12:22 | The few 'new' shares that they gave me for the thousands I had will have to increase by a hell of a lot!. Biggest rip off I have come across, I could understand it if the company had disappeared out of existance but to take our holdings and continue trading and feeding the directors like it does really gripes. | optomistic

01/5/2005 11:27 | Thanks. Why Titan, why not Titanic it would seem more appropriate. | angry eric 2
30/4/2005 10:08 | AngryEric: When they restructured they transferred the ongoing business to a newly created company - Telewest Global. Now they just need to dissolve the old company which is now just a shell. It amuses me though that they want to change the old company's name to Titan PLC - is that so that the name 'Telewest' does not appear on any list of dissolved companies...hmmm. | blooming

06/4/2005 16:52 | At a time in 2000, the shareprice of the Company reached a high of £5.62. At that time the Company was worth, (in my belief), an estimated £16 Billion and had debt of £4.45 Billion. Instead of placing a Rights Issue of 1 new for 4 shares held, which would have substantially wiped out all debt, the Company continued for a further 9 months, before arranging another Loan. This placing the Company deeper in debt: increasing it to £5.132 Billion. As a reward for placing a loss making Company, (at that time and for the foreseeable future), deeper into debt, the FD received a bonus of £170,000. Despite my basic education, I am sure that any sensible man would not believe, the way to pursue a debt crisis in a loss making Company, was to increase debt further: this increasing Interest payments and ensuring it even less likely to survive. Given the Mismanagement of the Company, it was inevitable that the Company would at some point be unable to repay Debt Interest; far less Loans at Surrender Date. | rorysdad

31/3/2005 10:53 | Telewest promises 10Mbps broadband trials 12:03PM Cable provider Telewest has revealed that it plans to trial a 10Mbps broadband service later this year. It is also planning to upgrade all its 256Kbps users to 512Kbps for the same £17.99 monthly fee, following the upgrading of all its other customers in November 2004. It will also be upgrading its servers to ensure fewer broadband faults The company has also said that it has found that 'uncapped access appeals', which to be frank comes as no surprise. Telewest customers therefore have good reason to believe that they won't have to worry about monitoring their broadband usage for the forseeable future. Telewest TV customers can look forward to the launch of the company's digital video recorder in the second half of 2005. | ebahgum |
