Highlights 4 me from todays results

1- The Group expanded eTeeth, its online offer to dentists, during the year with a
revenue increase of 69%.

2- Revenues GBP10,572k (2008: GBP10,065k), an increase of 5.0%

3- Net cash generated from operating activities of GBP446k (2008: GBP311k)

4- Bank debt reduction of GBP514k reducing from GBP1,761k to GBP1,247k

5- You as shareholders will decide if the Group offers an attractive investment
opportunity. But the Board and the senior management team are working very hard
to rebuild shareholder value. Personally I am committed to providing regular
updates to shareholders on the Group's performance and to provide a more
frequent level of news announcements.(Must have some good news to share)

WE FINLY HAVE A CHAIRMAN WHO WANTS TO SPEAK TO SHAREHOLDERS
MOBILE NUMBER
Grahame Sewell, Chairman 07767 350372

I wouldn't call 23k a big investment.

I'm more interested to lnow why the year ends have been delayed till March.

Last year it was pre Christmas.

In the same week that the last director with any industry knowledge resigned!
This is a ship sailing with no captain and no crew, as all the decent technicians have alrady gone.
I see no hope of an upturn.
Where are the year ends?

A director buys £2,500 worth at 2.5p, making it the biggest winner of the day.
Sounds like desperation to me.........can't get much closer to 0p
You could buy the whole company for the price of a London flat.

This was run down so you would salivate at the 4p they wanted to offer, FDT have said to offer 5p to get majority support (worth a lot more)

1st Dental Laboratories Plc ("the Company") has been notified by Cenkos Channel Islands Nominee Company Ltd that, on 23 December 2009, it acquired 5,560,561 ordinary shares in the Company on behalf of Praxis Trustees Limited as Trustee of the DNY Trust, an interest associated with Mr Wayne Bos, representing 13.23% of the issued share capital of the Company

Wayne Bos has quite a profile - well worth a Google. Can he turn them around as a holder?

ECI Ventures Nominees Limited 13.23% largest shareholder gone at 1.75p...ouch, no vote of confidence. Frankly granting of recent options shows how out of touch with shareholders interests these cowboys are

Looks like new owners and a corporate restructure required

Pugugly,
I would say what has come from this company has mostly been misleading. Everyone else has been blamed for the managements own mistakes.

The original idea was o.k buy small labs and leave them to run as they have.
But greed took over and the labs were pushed and pulled.
This industry will never work as a factory concept as what is being made is bespoke.
This was sadly forgotten.
But the company is in such bad shape, all decent staff with experience have gone, and that is un-replaceable.
I would steer well clear, when you have a bad name in this industry you never shake it.

troyzgot:> Very many thanks for your input. you have confirmed my worst fears. This had been on my watch list for many years but I always found the company very negative towards potential investors, and not prepared to talk, so I read the body language and luckily never invested.

I had been thinking of putting together a syndicate to put in an offer to the banks, as I believe that there is still massive potentail in the industry, but will not now progress.

Both gone as nothing more to take.

Turn this around I doubt it. All the decent workers have gone, set up thier own
ventures. This has also also had a negative effect on turnover.

Harrogate, Blackpool, Stourport, Eastbourne, Paignton, Chinnor, Aldershot and most recently Bedlington which was performing well.

The Year ends are likely to be awful ( if they make it)!

The new guys in charge, no dental background, no money demoralised workforce, bad company name in the industry, delapidated sites.
Dead in the water.

All IMHO.

Andrew Garner now out - imo a good sign as has not apparently been able to do anything with a good concept.

Mac Ganderton gone - as I never had any contact with him I cannot comment.

Anyone any views or knowledge as to whether Grahame Sewell and Nigel Spring have the dynamic to turn the company round or given the level of debt will the banks sell to a Vulture Fund - That is if there is anything left for a vulture to be intereed.

Thanks in advance for any info.

jeezus getting worse...i was thinking slightly better than -0.25 for eps

only £280,000 cash left

H1 2008 eps -0.34
H2 2008 eps -0.25
H1 2009 eps -0.78

Amazing that intangible asset value at circa 70%...worth zilch imo if can't make a profit which means tangible net asset value per share (tangible assets less liabilities) from these unaudited results looks like 1.4p

Also look at the jump in half year liabilities on the balance sheet under "trade creditors and other payable"
H1 2009 £1.67 million H1 2008 £0.731 million

Looks like can't pay the bills.

This company is going in bust slowly and needs a miracle

I think you will be waiting some time to see profit.

We will have to wait till the year end to get a better picture of what extra is being brought in by the sales team.

My guess is turnover will still be down on last year.

Seems there is just a conversion of existing work, which is erroding core business.

Interim report - Like going to the dentist - This is going to hurt but not quite as much as last time. However I presonally cannot see much upward movement is share price unless and untill there is a decisive move into profit (FRS3 profit and not normalised)

any other views ?

There is staff and staff!
Plenty have already gone, started up on thier own and are doing very well.

Well lets all wait for next year and see the excuses then, thats what we have had every year.

What has the gross turnover shrunk to now? If you dial in lost growth at 5% ish
You have to be down 20% in 3 years maybe more.

The FACT is Andrew has been trying to offload and can't.

Troy,

You might be right. I don't however see how you envisage staffing problems - where do you see all of them going if the credit-crunch is a problem?

spaceparallax

Sorry Space Parallax can't agree with the forecast.
Yes the reduced debt is always agood thing .
The turnover is down yet again, and most of these figures would be pre credit crunch, also now we are into the time when surgeons are topping up there uda,s.

The trend of quality workers and directors out of the door is the biggest worry, how will you ever recover with no-one to do quality work?

Also the aborted takeover is dismissed as an unwanted expense.....when everyone knows Andrew is desperate to sell.
