New Edison note out:- HTTP://www.edisoninvestmentresearch.com/?ACT=18&ID=17776&LANG= Estimate downgrades "We have reduced our FY17e revenues by 15% to £23.9m, with EBITDA dropping to a £0.3m loss from a £3.7m profit previously. We now forecast a year-end net debt position of £1m versus £1m net cash previously. 1Spatial has a £3m facility. Visibility for FY18 is clearly limited but, taking a cautious stance, we reduce our revenue and EBITDA by 19% and 58% respectively." --- As well as slashing targets, Edison also review their previous forecast of net cash of £1m at 2018 year end...with this now turning into net debt of £3m. I can't see anyway around a fundraise unless they surprise to the upside & convert their pipeline in an accelerated manner. The transition to SaaS type recurring revenues certainly doesn't help in the near term. Short lived investment...I'm out! Kind regards, GHF

a)timing of contracts is always a problem for small and new companies. b)Changing the recognition of income should have been forecast previously. c)Getting rid of under-performing non-core companies should have happened earlier. d)Operating within banking facilities is a worrying statement but necessary I venture. b) and c) give concern about the management

The Edison note eluded to timing issues, let us hope that is all it is and this represents a base to build from.......

GHF - good to see you take a stake. Judging by fridays move it looks like your involvement is having the usual positive impact. The chart alone is looking good to a move back to 4p in the short term. Long term chart also supporting that view and further.

TBF I think you will as well, mainly because of this: On 20 September, Andrew Roberts joined the Board as Non-executive Chairman. Andrew brings significant experience to 1Spatial from both a technology and EQUITY CAPITAL MARKETS perspective. (my caps). Andy's has an exemplary track-record of working with management teams of international companies to deliver significant shareholder value... although that doesn't say much for the management team, I thought that was their job ! If it was my thing, I'd be keeping an eye open for director buys.

Perhaps you would be better selling the data to SPA ? I think your purpose fits perfectly with their business model: "manage this meta data in an imaginary complex zero sum solution" That's the sort of thing that will cause them double the shares in issue at a stroke with a placing, in order to purchase it.

OK in my post1935 I am pleased to say I managed to sort out the smoothing problems and I have a good data set which I have been able to present on some fandangled GIS open source software suite and been able to integrate it into Google maps which is of course THE LARGEST SET OF SPATIAL DATA ON THE PLANET....So I'm now looking for a company that can offer a data management plug in that will help manage this big data, I'm looking for a company who use key wording on their Web site which can blind and confuse anyone into submission upon where one hasn't the faintest idea what business the really do. Perhaps a company that can offer solutions to help me managed this meta data in an imaginary complex zero sum solution. I think it would be helpful if the company had few if any productive staff that did not appear on Web sites such as glass door and could somehow hide in the shadows in some public fashion, anyone any ideas who it could be?

Well the market cap now appears to be below the revenue, which could mean everyone that wanted to sell, has. In which case a jump to 4p just on a trading basis could be possible. If I were trading I might indulge. Edison must have a jar of happy pills though !

It's a stock I have looked at before but thought there was too much hype in the price. Clearly they have not grown the business and profits as quickly as they had hoped but that is why the share price has performed so badly. I thought the fund raiser a few years ago was strange when only a fraction was used for acquisitions. I am not suggesting that this is a one way ticket to success. I am also not suggesting that the Edison targets are likely. 10p in a couple of years is unlikely but 5p seems reasonable. The long term chart shows a double bottom forming and with the company finally on the verge of making some money I think the risk / reward is there.

I'm not going to go into detail, but just checking whether you have looked back at how this company, more specifically its BOD has behaved ?

It's all very quiet here. Well I like this company. It is a world market leader in its sector. It is totally unloved at the moment and there is opportunity to pick up a decent holding somewhere near the floor. I have bought a decent stake at near the bid price over the last month or so. It hasn’t been as easy as you would think as there is a buyer in the market at around the 2.25p mark. Why do I like this company? They are building a scalable platform for growth. Their last update pointed out the Geospatial order book up 30% since their year end, so we know there is a pipeline of licensing deals to close (they may not do these all in H2 but will in time which will significantly boost their recurring revenue at high margin). The Esri relationship is now generating recurring subscription sales. So the Geospatial business is developing into one that has intellectual property (with high barriers of entry / replication), high margins, growing recurring revenues that will drive profit growth significantly once they achieve critical mass. Given the Geospatial order book grew to £5.2m, up from £4.0m at year-end, and 1Spatial has a number of licensing deals in the pipeline and 1Spatial has signed 10 deals through the Esri partnership and has more in the pipeline for H2, I think this will become evident that this is a niche business with market leading IP, on a very low rating. This is what the recent Edison report thought of the investment case: However, in terms of the longer-term investment case this will not matter too much if it shows evidence that strategic initiatives are starting to drive a sustainable improvement in financial performance. If 1Spatial does this then we believe that a 15x FY18 P/E rating (implying a 5.5p share price) would be a very undemanding starting point. Beyond this, looking at the open technology partnership opportunity alone, we believe that penetrating a mere 0.22% of the global GIS user base would justify a 10p share price. 5 bagger in a couple of years. I don’t think that is unreasonable. I find it is always best to buy near the bottom when no one else is looking!

I see that Threadneedle have increased their holding. Clearly responsible for the recent rise. I wonder how many more they want as it must be them mopping up the recent sales. Interesting as it could easily underpin the price back to 4p
