Patience. We will get there. It's a simple question of recognising how the market has and is evolving and how SPA is adapting to address that.SPA is not the same company operating in the same market as even a year ago. Both have and are undergoing structural changes. SPA market has gone from a couple years back helping less than 5pc of 200 countries and associated agencies of a civilian or military nature with a back-end rules engine and no real spatial big data problem, to today offering a unique end to end technology wrapping volumes speed quality reliability and utility with a much broader geographical spread. They fix a growing and pressing issue, addressed to any number of cities, national agencies and corporations as well as existing customer segments as they all recognise and move to resolve their spatial big data problem. SPA is not making this market, they are participating in it. By way of example, from an earlier post the new to SPA market for cities alone is top 700 cities that are projected to spend trillions on smart infrastructure and don't know where to start. This is a simple example of what SPA could theoretically support with its core intellectual property but for real ability to scale in the same way other established global players can . They can't service that market scale alone of course; but they do have technology / software which can and does replicate and scale. Their competitors and other players don't have the engines that service these high volumes of spatial data quality and presentation in the same way. We have already seen evidence of that too. The market opportunity with the capability for SPA to address it is huge one way or other - which ever way you cut it, they just need to find a way, and this opportunity effectively did not exist in an addressable way before the placing. (cash to develop product, acquire and find growth). This is what the placing was about, and so long as they execute the potential by using their resources wisely it will start playing out in the numbers and share price. Sure of it!

Danger is, without considering earnings, nobody can work out an exit point. No valuation, nobody knows whether a share is oversold, overbought or anything in the middle. This looks like its going to get pumped to me.

Why is the only thing missing from your posts, any discussion of actual business performance and the forecasts that are in the market ? Just words, words and more words. Of course they've got cash - they've just diluted shareholders stakes by half. Its a funny little 'thing' of mine, but I tend to buy stocks based on the business performance, rather than a powerpoint presentation, complete with market jargon. Seems to have worked for the last 20 years or so. The point about exceptionals is that you won't actually be able to see what the business is really doing with the next set of results. Unless they are really clear about what is happening in different parts of the business. Which, based on their history, they won't be. Have you even looked at the forecasts ?

Things are moving today... Yump there will be exceptionals- they have just acquired a business. Go find a business thats made an acquisition that doesn't have exceptionals. I predict they will have at least £12M of cash in the bank to support future plans. I believe things are on the way up for good reasons - here is a summary of the posts and points already made over the past weeks centred on the key dimensions - Technology, Market, Leadership/Capability 1) SPA has a unique proven technology that fixes a growing critical issue in a number of established expanding and new markets Verification points proven established technology and IP: -National OS - the most advanced mapping agencies like UK and full suite being piloted by likes of Ireland -European Level (European Location Framework), new work contract key consortium member with their technology with future view to global framework -US Census national level - key technology supplier with engine to enable processing huge quantities of spatial data - most advanced census in the world -Replacement of Tadpole in the Tadpole ESRI failure at UK OS now working as core technology in recognised globally advanced OS agency 2) SPA have a huge and growing addressable market expanded with the acquisition of Star-Apic Verification points on increased addressable and expanding market: - SPA can now address the end to end Spatial Big Data value chain without having to partner - signed up new Cities - Growth in Spatial Big Data is expanding down into Cities on scale - Smart Cities, Smart Water, Smart Sensors, Smart x Commercial awareness of Smart Cities growing in established and new players on a global scale - Growth in need for faster deeper more reliable data at the national and supranational level - from Military to Federal Civilian to Commercial - Growth in the "internet of things" as we get more and more intereconnected projected to scale as everything gets wired up to everyone - ESRI having to partner with SAP to get Spatial big data number crunching capability where SPA also traditionally sit but does not do what SPA does 3) SPA have a proven leadership team and resources to hand to execute at some capacity in the market - they can play their hand well Verification points on proven leadership team and ability to execute to date: - Proven core skills in the business to manage acquisitions integration growth and disposal - Further building out the core product set to Spatial Studio Suite to address expanding market needs of spatial data lifecycle management and opportunities -Secured resources to kickstart and help address market growth opportunities - Managed through placing to secure a strategic complimentary company/solution to enable both to better compete with global players in a global market - Has started to prove that the above points are coming together with the acquisition of new combined strategic client relationships In summary we have a well established core technology protected by IP that is being expanded upon to address a growing problem in an increasingly large market as everything gets wired up and interconnected in ways that we can only just begin to imagine... The Management team have seen the opportunity and taken moves to address it, gaining confidence of a new round of strategic shareholders and investors; that also are empowered to see a lot more than we are as private investors. There is no question of the market, or the technology, or the management to date, or current strategy to address the market. The only questions are how does SPA play its hand to exploit its position and win well with what it has to date and can further accumulate, and what signs do we have over time its playing out the right way. We have had early positive indications the past couple weeks that things are headed the right direction at least, and the interim results will be announced soon and we will see. Just to keep the "cliche" going here is another interesting snippet from Aug 14th of the expanding city market SPA is now actively playing in - how can they prosper?: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20130814005322/en/Smart-Cities-Council-Announces-Advisory-Board-World's WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Smart Cities Council, which is dedicated to improving the livability, workability and sustainability of cities around the globe, recently announced its Advisory Board comprised of the world's foremost independent organizations of experts on smart city technologies. In collaboration with the Council's coalition of leading technology companies, the Advisory Board is focused on accelerating smart growth in cities around the world by lowering barriers to adoption through tools, thought leadership, outreach and advocacy... ...These organizations have joined forces with the Council to advise on ways to help cities around the world make the right technology choices and learn best practices in policy. They also help cities to identify and pursue creative financing options and bring citizens along as full, participatory partners. Over the next twenty years, the world's 700 largest cities are projected to make a cumulative infrastructure investment of $30-$40 trillion, but many cities do not know where to begin.....

Yump, not sure where you are coming from...as private investors all we can do is research our investments, research the company's marketplace and look at what is happening in the outside world which can influence the company's performance...as far as I can see that is exactly what mwaller has done. Not sure how he can be expected to give forecasts to company performance? He has looked at the points I highlighted above and thinks this is a good stock to invest in...he is entitled to that opinion and it would appear that so far the market and the investors are agreeing with him given the share price now stands at 9p as opposed to 1.6p a few months back
