it is...final nail in coffin for me. I'll come back in autumn. very disappointed with forward statements on RNS.

Looks like it. Perhaps someone's clicked the wrong thing and there's a contract RNS to be announced. That would certainly fit with my decision to sell in the next month or so ;-) Surprising how often you buy or sell and the reverse of what you'd carefully reasoned, happens !

H Sometimes I've felt like doing that with companies, but I'm not an activist. There's certain criteria I like for the content in statements and if the companies start off right, they usually continue in that way, whereas once the jargony vague statements appear, they hardly ever change. I've always taken the view that if the guys in charge are shrewd enough to have a great business model, plan and execution, then they are absolutely shrewd enough to know how to keep investors informed properly. Or not (which is the real point). Its a bit like seeing what they'll do when they're not being hassled. If they do it right without pressure from shareholders, then imo that's a big bonus. If it takes shareholder pressure, then I'm in the wrong investment and that's my fault. Its that old one of fighting the battles you've got a chance of winning...

Perhaps you could feed back to them how uninformative you found their update and tell them what investors would really be interested in hearing.... you never know, they may take on board your suggestions, but they've had your cash now so maybe not!!!

Yump, if you staring at the wallpaper wondering what to buy, you could do worse than try a few WGB - not scientific, cloud in the sky investing, but good reliable solid organic growth. DYOR of course.

I've decided to sell most of the holding soon, but I will keep an eye on it. However won't come back trashing or repeating my misgivings if it doesn't work out, so best of luck. Reasons:- its the combination of events that have now transpired that's thrown me: Failing BOD buys company in growth / latest thing market - that bit OK Number of shares doubled - not OK Lots of money issued, but not much explanation - not OK Products that I thought were 'finished' obviously need more development to sell - 50/50 Lots of words issued, but no real update on revenue expectations No real update on first half revenue ...and for the non-business part, where you cash in shares because they've shot up due to a trendy market, rather than any big profits ... Wandisco has already done it. I'm afraid that's several too many for me.

For anyone who missed it much earlier, the following link shows you Ordnance Survey expenditure, plus any purchase invoices over £100,000. This doesn't include OSI. Useful to keep an eye on. hxxp://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/about-us/governance/transparency-agenda.html In December there was a contract announced with OSGB and a 'new level of relationship' was mentioned. So far this year the expenditure has been: Jan: £127,706 Feb: £72046 March: £87928 April: £0 There has been a purchase order issued of around £125,000 to Dotted Eyes, with whom SPA are working. How much they get I don't know. You can look back to last year, in which case at the moment, the revenue run rate for OSGB doesn't look much different, so I assume the contract was a renewal type for OSGB, rather than a step-up in revenue.

Thanks. Doesn't look like they know anything more than SPA have put in statements. I was expecting a few nuggets. As it is, I can't see much to get excited about. If the revenues just went up in an organic way it would be easier to judge, but the accounts are going to be cluttered by acquisition extraordinaries, as they're obviously going to buy other businesses. What does seem to come out of the finals, is that neither 1Spatial, nor Star-Apic seem to have generated much profit from reasonable turnover, despite the fact that both have been going for a quite a time, based on established tech and products. 1Spatial on its own did seem to have a good profit level, but that seems to have disappeared. (I posted some calcs. way back in Jan). Surely if the businesses are mission-critical, there should have been, or be, a really good level of profit available. It really does bring it into contrast when I compare it with another investment I've got in DGS, which is rated quite highly, but where cash and profits just flow into the business.

Not yet. Actually that's just reminded me I've been hoping for some for the last 6 months since I invested. Only one's around belonged to TW and the less said there, the better. I'm talking myself into selling aren't I ?

NickB Quite frankly I don't know now and will probably be out if there is nothing more concrete forthcoming very soon. Been invested since late last year after researching, but now the whole business has changed and its very irritating not to be given anything to go on, except cliched statements. If it was a new float with new management, I'd probably stay.

Problem is now, there's no reason to buy either, unless you like buying on unknown and unspecified hope. I'm not very optimistic as there will be plenty of previous disillusioned shareholders looking at the statements and thinking they aren't going to get much more return for quite a while. Also £12mln was at the very bottom of my hopes on revenue, given that we thought the OS Ireland and other contracts would be adding to it. So the growth hoped for has just not happened. Unless its been happening in the first half of current year, but there's no real statement on current trading. Unless its a secret. hahaha. Given the constant statements about the US census, there isn't even any clue on likely revenue from that. The more I look, the more rubbish it is and actually it would be a great shame if the people in charge are going to turn what looked like a promising business that could grow organically, into an ego-driven empire that just keeps posting sets of loss-making accounts. I bet that the next lot of results are also loss-making, with the usual exceptionals as a result of acquisitions. That's one way of never having to prove you can actually run a profitable business.

well another AIM-esque results...nothing really that tells us anything about which way the company is going. we can only hope for some contract news within the next few months but I imagine nothing much over summer and then we'll be looking at oct before anything meaty.

fgump 1 Jul'13 - 08:19 - 1234 of 1234 0 0 "...While 1Spatial might be a great business, based on track record you couldn't be sure..." That's what I've been wondering about and looking for evidence in the statement that the leopard's spots have changed. Unfortunately the more I read, the less impressed I am at the moment. I was OK with it up until the massive fundraising. In the finals I was looking for some detail on this £12mln 'qualified pipeline' of opportunities. Its not there. In fact its not mentioned. Got a feeling old shareholders will say its par for the course.

Another year of enthusiasm and another year of no profit. Since January 2009 Hanke has been promising, promising but has never delivered. The share price then was 6.5p. There have been many deals but never any meaningful, consistent profits. While 1Spatial might be a great business, based on track record you couldn't be sure. Through the same period the management team have been paid hundreds of thousands in salaries and bonuses yet burnt through millions of shareholder cash. For those of you that remain, I wish you well. Maybe this time you will get lucky...
