Volkswagen AG said Wednesday that it plans to hire 2,800 workers in tech-related positions across the group's units as part of its digitization push.
The German auto giant's software unit Cariad is looking for more than 1,700 workers, while the Volkswagen brand and its premium car brand Audi are seeking 700 and 400 information-technology employees, respectively.
The company said it bundled the tech recruiting of Cariad, Audi and the Volkswagen brand as it gears toward a more digitized auto industry.
