Skoda Auto AS said Tuesday that it is reducing production shifts due to continued disruptions to semiconductor supply, which it expects to improve in the second half of 2023.
The Czech car maker--part of Volkswagen AG--will address the semiconductor-supply issue by reducing the number of shifts based on the availability of parts for each model, it said in a statement. Skoda said it isn't planning to completely halt its production program.
The company said it expects semiconductor supply to improve in the second half of the year, but cautioned that the automotive industry will face a challenge in sourcing semiconductors over the coming years.
