1043 GMT - Bayer AG is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data, after it posted rising third-quarter earnings and sales and backed its outlook for 2022. The German company's net profit rose in the third quarter to 546 million euros ($547.2 million) from EUR85 million the year prior, on sales which grew to EUR11.28 billion in the quarter from EUR9.78 billion the year prior. Although sales and Ebitda before special items--a closely watched metric--beat analysts' expectations, net profit came in slightly short. Bayer's Crop Science agricultural division, a key growth driver, posted an uptick in sales compared with the previous year, when it was recovering from a slump. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva.
