United Technologies Corp.'s (UTX) Collins Aerospace Systems unit on Monday said it is investing $225 million in an expansion of its landing-systems operations that will create more than 100 jobs.
Collins said it plans to open a new 110,000-square-foot facility in Fort Worth, Texas, where it will perform wheel and brake maintenance, repair and overhaul operations, as well as landing-gear assembly.
The company said it is also expanding its carbon brake manufacturing plants in Spokane, Wash., and Pueblo, Colo.
United Technologies and Raytheon Co. (RTN) last year unveiled a $135 billion deal to combine UTC's Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney units with Raytheon to create Raytheon Technologies Corp., which will be one of the world's largest aerospace companies. The merger is slated to close early in the second quarter.
