Lowe's reported 5% comparable-sales growth in the three months through January, and its earnings beat expectations.
On Tuesday, competitor Home Depot Inc. also recorded quarterly sales and earnings growth, yet that stock posted the biggest percentage decline among S&P 500 stocks on Tuesday. Analysts and investors voiced concern about Home Depot's margins and its 2022 outlook.
