The sector is also being fuelled by billions of investment coming back into the UK, because it looks like being a Conservative majority and thus the uncertainty that caused billions to be taken out of the UK over the past 3 years, is reversing

True, just looking at it from the investors point of view.

typical placing...but at least it's to enable potential manufacturing to fill orders which i assume they have a chance of getting. if they had firm orders they would have got a loan instead and reduced dilution.

I was castigated on here but 2 days ago as I stated that I expected they would issue more shares and indeed it would be prudent to do so given the substantial rise over the past 2 weeks. I was told by commenters on here that Bond had categorically stated they would not be raising funds; they could raise from banks if necessary; we can now see that wasn't true. It is a small amount however and perhaps due to AFC's anticipation of the share price further increasing in value before asking for another II to invest. It's likely that Rolec has already intimated they will order some units hence this raise but we'll see. It does highlight that if they need funds to produce such a small amount of orders they will need far more funds to produce a larger amount unless they outsource early on, but as that wouldn't be in house they would need to spend time to ensure that the quality of the end units is of sufficient quality.

A tiny £520k raise from an undisclosed "offshore" entity. It reminds me of the good old days of the scam at cloudtag!

I like most: "The launch of AFC Energy's first hydrogen fuelled, zero emission EV charger unit next month means we must now prepare ourselves to respond to orders in a timely manner. The funding announced today supports these activities across both the sales function and supply chain with a view to accelerating our readiness for our deployment in 2020". AFC must be confident to get orders

It tells you there is institutional support for the stock which is good. The whole sector is on fire at the moment. Funds want to be seen buying green stocks.

If they bought on the open market AFC wouldn't be trousering 520k towards commercialisation

That institution went a funny way about getting that stock, as they could have bought it on the open market yesterday morning for not much difference in price, so I guess their dealing rules don't allow them to do that?At least it proves a point though, that institutional investors value AFC as a buy at this MCap, as I pointed out last night.

only represents 0.58% of the share capital so should have little real impact on the share price - maybe initially on the idea of dilution/fund raising but then the rise to continue as AFC gets more widely visible

Looks a good deal considering the recent spike in share price. Not stock that is likely to be sold in a hurry either.

Issue of Equity. Subscription for 2,600,000 Ordinary Shares to raise £520,000 AFC Energy (AIM: AFC), a leading provider of hydrogen power generation technologies, is pleased to announce that it has raised £520,000 before expenses by way of a subscription for 2,600,000 ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") at 20 pence per Ordinary Share (the "Issue Price") ("the Subscription Shares") (the "Subscription").
