Historical Stock Chart
From Sep 2019 to Sep 2024
WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:WGRD), a leading
provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, announced that
industry research group Infonetics, which publishes the quarterly
"Network Security Appliances and Software Equipment Market Share &
Forecasts," released its latest report and highlighted WatchGuard as
the revenue leader in the $1,500-$4,999 priceband, the primary sector
for WatchGuard's flagship product, the Firebox X Core.
WatchGuard recently introduced the Firebox X Core e-Series which
features enhancements to its products in this sector, offering more
ports, increased firewall and VPN performance, and support for
advanced networking functionality that provides greater security and
flexibility.
"From day one WatchGuard has focused on building highly integrated
security solutions for SMBs, and has been a leading player in the
lower pricebands for quite some time, so we weren't surprised to see
it step into first place this quarter; this is its primary business,"
said Jeff Wilson, Principal Analyst, VPNs and Security at Infonetics
Research, Inc.
"The Infonetics report is testament to WatchGuard's powerful
security product line and the great value it offers small- and
mid-sized businesses," said Stephen Wampler, WatchGuard director of
product marketing and product management. "Our users clearly
appreciate the strength of these products and the ease of management
that provides powerful network security without the added complexity
offered by other products on the market."
The Firebox X Core e-Series also comes in a UTM bundle, a
comprehensive all-in-one, hardware and security services package that
includes Gateway AntiVirus/Intrusion Prevention with anti-spyware,
spamBlocker, WebBlocker and LiveSecurity support. By offering a
packaged solution set, WatchGuard makes it easier for resellers to
provide their customers with more complete protection, and end-users
benefit as the deployment of multiple security services only requires
a single license.
Like all of WatchGuard's Firebox product line, the Firebox X Core
e-Series appliance uses WatchGuard's unique Intelligent Layered
Security with its powerful proxies that proactively block malware to
provide true Zero Day attack prevention from new and unknown threats.
WatchGuard's Gateway AV/IPS engine stops malware not detected by
proxies. spamBlocker blocks unwanted e-mail in real time, including
new image-based threats. WebBlocker boosts productivity by blocking
undesirable URLs and web content that adversely affect productivity
and may also infect a network with malicious code. The cooperation of
these security functions means less network degradation than
competitive offerings.
WatchGuard's ground-breaking LiveSecurity Support package includes
security experts, consultants, and engineers that continuously monitor
the network security landscape, provide ongoing education with
training, user forums, Web chats, editorials, breaking threat alerts,
in addition to the software updates, technical support and hardware
warranty expected from a support organization. Innovative educational
tools -- such as SecurityWise, easily understood network security
training sessions; and video "cubecasts" that address security threats
in an informative, actionable manner -- set WatchGuard's support apart
from the rest. Combining the appliance, robust security capabilities,
and ongoing educational and support services into a single unit allows
WatchGuard customers to benefit from a complete and comprehensive
security solution right out of the box.
