US Airways Introduces New Nonstop Florida Routes and Expands GoFares Network ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways(R) today announced new nonstop flights to Florida beginning Nov. 13, 2004, introducing three new GoFares(R) markets and increasing the airline's "point-to-point" flying to key leisure markets. US Airways will offer low, simple GoFares on its new nonstop roundtrip Boston-Orlando service, with fares starting at $72* one-way, and last-minute fares as low as $179* one-way. From Orlando, US Airways currently operates nonstop service to 16 destinations. US Airways will begin new nonstop roundtrip service to Fort Lauderdale from both Hartford, Conn., and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI). Hartford-Fort Lauderdale GoFares start at $108* one-way, and last minute fares are available for as low as $194* one-way. BWI-Fort Lauderdale fares start at $79* one-way, and last minute fares begin at $188* one-way. From Fort Lauderdale, US Airways currently flies to six nonstop destinations. US Airways will also begin new nonstop service between BWI and Miami, as well as Fort Myers-Columbus, Ohio, service. All new Florida flights will operate each Saturday using 126-seat Boeing 737-300 aircraft. "Approximately 25 percent of travel from the Northeast is to Florida, and these new routes and fares support that demand," said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of network and revenue management. "Florida point-to- point flying plays an important role in our Transformation Plan, and we look forward to even more expansion to this highly popular region of the country." * US Airways' GoFares are simple, however, in addition to the fare, the federal government requires that the company collect a tax of $3.10 every time a customer takes off on one of US Airways' planes, plus $2.50 per segment, up to $10 per trip (the September 11th Security Fee). Some of the airports that customers might visit also charge up to $4.50 for passing through, but the total is capped at $18 per trip. The lowest fares must be purchased seven or 14 days in advance, are one-way, and are nonrefundable. Last minute fares are refundable, and are also one-way. Other restrictions may apply. For more details, see usairways.com/gofares. US Airways has many other airline partners, and a part of a GoFare or any other trip might be on one of the partner's airplanes. These GoFares are available for travel on the US Airways Express(R) carriers Air Midwest, Chautauqua, Colgan, Mesa, Piedmont, PSA, Shuttle America or Trans States, and MidAtlantic Airways. A flight also might be operated by our Star Alliance partner United Airlines(R). For all of the details about GoFares, including a few other restrictions, please go to usairways.com. US Airways introduced the first phase of its GoFares in Philadelphia on April 29, 2004, and GoFares are now available on 22 routes to and from Philadelphia and 39 routes from Washington, as well as between New York (LaGuardia) and Fort Lauderdale. More information about GoFares markets is available online at usairways.com/gofares. US Airways is the nation's seventh-largest airline, serving nearly 200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and the US Airways Express partner carriers operate over 3,300 flights per day.
