Engineered Support Earns $279 Million Contract for MNF-I Command & Control Infrastructure ST. LOUIS, April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered Support Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:EASI) received a contract from the U.S. Army to provide a scaleable, highly-available, integrated, open-standards Command and Control Information Technology Infrastructure (C2ITI) for the Multi-National Forces -- Iraq (MNF-I), the Coalition military command providing for security in Iraq at the request of the Iraq Interim Government. The MNF-I effort is a follow-on to a $52 million ceiling contract with the Army to support the communications needs of the Coalition Provisional Authority, the erstwhile governing body of Iraq, received by TAMSCO early in 2004. The "time and materials" contract provides an initial funding level of $12.2 million, with a ceiling of $279 million over the 3-year performance period, and will be performed by team led by Engineered Support's wholly-owned subsidiary, Technical and Management Services Corporation (TAMSCO), and will be supported by a number of subcontractors including Raytheon, Artel, AT&T, Obron and by Engineered Support's most-recently acquired subsidiary, Spacelink International LLC, according to Gerald A. Potthoff, Engineered Support's Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Under this effort, the TAMSCO team provides program management, architectural design and engineering, installation, operation and maintenance, network management and systems administration support," Potthoff said. "Our team's knowledge and experience along with state-of-the-art technical engineering and support solutions offers unique capabilities to the U.S. Army."
