MDA Ltd. said Monday that it has been chosen to design and build steerable antennas by low-orbit satellites maker Airbus OneWeb Satellites LLC.
The Canadian space technology company said the Ka-Band antennas will be integrated into the portfolio of small commercial satellites that Airbus OneWeb will manufacture for U.S. Space & Defense Inc.
Airbus OneWeb Satellites is a joint venture between Airbus and OneWeb that is producing satellites for Airbus U.S. Space & Defense in support of U.S. government programs.
MDA didn't provide financial details of the contract, but said it will be included in its backlog in this year's third fiscal quarter.
