27/11/2020 10:39 | Not arguing with your comments FF but I suspect that Hydrogen is the one to watch as far as vehicles are concerned in the future. Electricity generation is great for solar panels on houses + wind power generation etc and when they eventually get this on going battery situation sorted will be even better. The only fly in the ointment are the basic metals to produce batteries etc. | luderitz
27/11/2020 06:09 | Producing carbon composite cylinders is not green. Carbon fibre requires very high temperatures in its manufacture ie very large amounts of energy. Kevlar and high modulus polythene less so. | freddie ferret
27/11/2020 06:01 | Skinny. Powering aircraft with hydrogen is one of the few uses for hydrogen that may be sound imho. The problem with hydrogen is producing it in an energy efficient way, however for aircraft fueling its low mass may outweigh its highish cost of production. Land vehicles will be powered by electricity from batteries or wires imho. | freddie ferret
24/11/2020 07:55 | Yes Peter typical of this country not support our little firms with the bright ideas. This looks interesting as well. Pity we cant take advantage of it. | hazl
22/11/2020 11:19 | . One early electric victory GM can claim is the $4,300 Wuling Hongguang Mini, a bare-bones vehicle launched this summer in China with a finish so basic that one reviewer ranked it “between an economy car and a public bathroom”. The car has already overtaken Tesla’s Model 3 as the best-selling electric car in China. In Europe and America, however, GM has yet to prove it can pull off a similar trick. “The best product is going to win,” Morris said. “That’s the automotive industry in a nutshell.” | skinny

16/11/2020 17:45 | . "Swansea University researchers are investigating the possibility of using sunlight to convert hazardous medical waste into clean hydrogen fuel. The team are developing a novel process called photoreforming which uses sunlight to simultaneously kill viruses and convert non-recyclable waste into clean hydrogen fuel. The process works by using nanostructured semiconductors to drive the degradation of waste and pathogens with sunlight". | skinny
16/11/2020 06:31 | . Rishi Sunak is considering plans to charge motorists for using Britain’s roads amid concerns over a £40 billion tax shortfall created by the switch to electric cars. | skinny |
