Good post on RBD - Cathal Friel essentially set up Open Orphan (ORPH) which is about to change it's name to HVivo which is one of the parts of the company. He has brought the company to profitability from the original loss making HVivo that he acquired. He promised the earth and the share price hit 47p, but so far he has only delivered manure and the share price is now 10p'ish.He did buy a huge chunk of shares at about 27p I think, so he is well down on his own investment. He clearly wants to deliver shareholder value and I doubt he is one for asset stripping a company, but he has failed to deliver many of his promises over the past 2 years or so.They managed to list an asset that the company owned and created Poolbeg (POLB) which is looking to acquire early stage drugs or delivery systems and develop them and sell on. Was listed at 10pps with a 9 month lock-in, share price now about 7p but dropped as low as 4.5p. That one could be a winner.

Agree ownski.

I remember the damage the 2021 full yr results did when LT failed to explain the high costs in those accounts. They turned out to be one off cost associated with staff severance payments as Cathal merged loss making Venn & HVIVO into ORPH, shedding duplicate staff costs along the way. The derampers had a bloody field day in labelling those high costs as recurring..... typical!

Despite a joint CF & LT presentation to explain those costs, the damage was done & since then, we have suffered months & months of a falling share price.

At the time I sold half my holdings. Wish I had sold more now. That said I am fully back on board again.

Fingers crossed Stephen can now drive up HVIVO'S Profits & Margins to merit a higher share price.

Stt1. They pay nothing to orph for a period of time. After that its pay to play. Which you would know if you read the prospectus etc. As for revenue they will get that as an when assets are monetised or via grants from non profit ngo or similar. Pertinent to rare disease such as melioidosis. Which you would know if you understood the rns or sat on the investor meetings and asked questions interesting enough to answer. Polb great value at current price AND should polb001 behave as expected and generate positive signals re immune dampening on lps challenge then all bets off on what share price could look like if a sale or out licence with upfront and milestones gets agreed. That process might take a while and like any biotech results not a given but if it works and we get.money in then then business model is validated and it will be hard to find anyone still banging on about polb ipo being a disaster. Could be an absolute gem of a share and worth more in 5 years than even orph at 47p. It will certainly be worth more than TLY.

There you go, pump/dump in action to entice newbies or gullible in.

"Didn’t TLY just hit year lows today? Discuss"

Apr 2021 to now...
OO - 45p to 10p, down 77%.
TLY - 10p to 31p, up 300%

and you're concerned about TLY. Does it make your huge losses more palatable..lol

The share price at TLY doesn't bother me but given you and your mates are rattled here, says everything about the agenda of the pump and dump here.

Why not Trmr? which is at 2 yrs lows, 850p to 300p, as warned? Discuss.

or TW/PSN, where I've posted vast majority of my posts. After all 1gw and his mates were using that to sway the gullible when the share price was significantly higher. The share price there has crashed, as expected and 1gw and his mates have egg on their face, yet again.

Have a look yourselves, Owenski, trolling TLY. lol

Just like on trmr, the pump/dump gang here are desperate to entice newbies and the gullible in so they can reduce their losses.

sikhthetech is here to disrupt the thread, not to engage in rational debate, I suggest. Inaminute's post appeared to resonate at the time he made it, judging from the thumbs up.

Besides Taylor Wimpey, if anyone wants to check they can find evidence of sikhthetech's modus operandi on TRMR, BYOT, SLN, REAT, SUMM.

I suggest everyone does themselves a favour and ignores this poster. If you need any idea as to how it operates look at the Taylor Wimpey board. I have no idea what it has just said but I promise you it will be downhill from here and totally disrupt the board.

I don't post just read but thought i'd wade into the buyback debate.

When things are tough and appear like they might get tougher cash is king.

Preserve capital and take advantage of some businesses that might need to be sold or sell some of their assets. its what good businesses do whilst the weak flounder

A share buyback to support the share price is a waste of key capital- cash imho

Im underwater like many but am sitting here as i believe good will out in the end despite the pain in getting there
----------------------------------

Brown,

Your comments echo my thoughts as a strategic alternative during turbulent markets where cash is king. A couple of Companies, such as SPSY and SOM, have spent most of 2022 buying back their own shares. Neither have had success in reversing the share price decline. However, we need to look into the future and trust to hope both Companies benefit from improved trading and build profitability. If this proves the case, EPS improves and the share price recovers.

Additionally, share buybacks held in treasury can provide an opportunity to reward with a dividend as and when the share price recovers.

Mo purchase.

He had made it clear he would as and when regs allowed him to. Certain bashers have argued conspiracy theories why he has not until now. The case for the conspiracies demonstrates a lack of understanding of how long such deals take to negotiate, which Mo and the board are typically classed as inside. And yet today, we have the same person arguing there cannot be any more price-sensitive news based on Mo's purchase. Talk about adjusting the narrative to suit the agenda!

Take a bow Sik!

Off to Wales for the TW event tomorrow. Snap shot of questions I hope to ask Cathal ? Dim timeframes? ? Plans for the £20m cash? ? Are you happy with the EBITA margins? ? With zero competition & mega savings enjoyed by big Pharma should we not be charging more for HCS? ? Thoughts on the beleaguered share price? ? Is the share price being controlled by a dominant seller? ? If not why does he think folks are selling? ? Hivo/Merger & listing on the Nasdaq? ? Dividend, when? ? Institutions not buying, why? ? Name change to Hivo! Why now? ? Latest pleas on Imutex and Biopharma? ? Do you read the Telegram ORPH BB? ? Do you regret saying Sp will rise 50% every 6 months ? ? Do you regret buying shares at 26p ? ? Have we got a persistent big seller & if so who is it? ? Why have you been so silent on ORPH recently ? Do you trust TW? ? What's the minimum price you would sell Hivo for? ? Have you spoken to Apple Watch about Dim and If so are they interested in paying a license fee for its health data? ? What's the hold up on monetising the data ? How can Dim function without Hivo if it's spun out? ? Where do you see yourself in 1 years time, 2 years time & 3 years time??On my way ?

shazbo,

It makes no difference to me though..

I was loading up at 10p when 1gw and his mates claimed to short and making similar claims... He ended up with egg on his face. The current share price of 38p is still significantly higher. Unlike Orph..;-)

Then 1gw's mates were wrong footed only 18months when they were claiming that the business is finished because of some 'white paper', which again I said was a known.

It's always easy to pick up shares and trade them and make a lot of money when clueless muppets post BS to drive the share price lower. ;-)

The share price has doubled since and 1gw and his mates ended up with egg on their face, again..

;-)

I respectfully disagree. Any funds should be used for r and d for new model development. Buybacks unlike to move share price.much and potentially showsbtheu have no ideas for growth. If the share price continues to bottom out you have wasted money. Patience is required and I trust orph to continue to use capital for business development not pandering to panicking over exposed bed wetters with investment horizons of weeks. Some of the cash maybe required for legals for spin outs or capacity acquisition. Buyback=mistake=money wasted.

It does not feel like the market makers have any interest in this sector.I note that
Mhc issued encouraging results yet the share price is unmoved.

On aim it feels like the market makers decide when they want to pump up the share price or crash it .

Performance appears to make little impact notwithstanding the discussion points on this bb as to why the share price is where it is.
