I got a quote on the warrants at US$0.65 which appeared to convert to 32.5p. However the sterling price actually worked out to be about 37p - a 15% premium for conversion.
Can anyone (kenmitch?) give me any background on this or how to avoid it?
Could I open a US$ account to charge it to and would that be economic on my small deals?.

Too late PDM, you have been vilified in the weekend press and there will be a load of Grannys with AK47s coming after you for wrecking their pensions!!!

hi there,

I suppose it was tabloid tv at its best so not very prowd of it!. Basically my brokers saw I was one of the wfew who was making money each day last week. They asked would I be interested in explaining on bbc, in a week when the markets were tanking..it was possible to actually make some money in this environment.

I said ok, would be happy to explain the concept of shorting the market and how individuals can benefit from this etc. The interview was about 20 mins including questions on the morals and ethics of shorting etc. The only question I asked the reporter not to ask me , how much I made each day last week.

Of course he bloody kept asking me this and this is where the stupid comment on earning in a day (last week only!) what I earned in a month in my previous career (McDonalds hamburger mechanic), I wouldn't give him a number. The TV slot also showed me going thru' an azn trade and ignored most of the rest of the interview. In fairness he did warn me at the end that because of unpredictability of business news slot my bit might be squeezed (or should I say SHortened!)

Anyway went to Budapest with a few Eriksson friends and had a great weekend, out of all my shorts on Thursday although I think I'll be opening up the shop soon again

hope this explains!

Bet it was the soft brogue that won them over! ;-)

Hope you're well PDM.

Very short slot really, and they only showed a small part of what they filmed but you cannot expect too much on a news program when matters of world importance are going on.

Mentioned earning as much in a day as he did in his previous profession shorting AZN this week, contrasting this with people interviewed in the street about how much they have lost.

You need to ask Pdm himself what else they asked, apart from unsuccessfully pressing him for an actual figure on how much he actually made which the doubtless would have shown, but he's on his way to Budapest for the weekend now so it will have to be next week.

Be sure to tune in to BBC breakfast TV Tomorrow to see Pdm in action.

With all the current doom and gloom the beeb were anxious to meet someone who was making some money so asked GNI for some help.

Not sure exactly when they are showing it but tune in.

wow,

compliments are flying here!, Bullie true to my word I'm on the case and already half a stone lighter. This dieting lark is pretty hard but its a mind over matter issue...if you truly want to loose weight it can be done.

I haven't been on the boards much over last few months because I have committed most of my capital resources to property transactions in London and Budapest. I haven't been able to short some of those techs on the way down but luckily I haven't got clobbered by this market either. My first property sale completes next week and in anticipation I've been putting a few techs on board in last few days(Bkm, Balti, Pon, GIM), and even a slab of advfn on Friday!.

Dodddy, 'the less chunky monkey' will be back more active on the boards in early January.

diego, I'll be at Holmes Place(Fulham Road) at six today, maybe see you then!.
