Interesting that one of their main funds (GRID) getting absolutely battered. Not sure GHE would get such a good offer now given the overall collapse in market sentiment since July - thankfully sold GHE on day of announcement so locked in that nice 50% rally!

Was there ever a share consolidation on this over the years?

The company was only set up in its current form in 2014 so the share price before that is completely irrelevant - I believe they used Gresham House as a shell to list the new company.

I do believe these were as low as
1 penny in the middle 80s if you know the lowest price for these it will be interesting

Topvest - also sad to see yet another Aim/aquis company disappear, after crestchic, sureserve and national milk though never quite thought the playing field was level for private investors with founder shares, LTIP, share options all to be considered. suppose it's all about incentivising and retaining the staff. will be interesting to see whether their charge on their low-cost forestry funds, several of which have a carried interest provision, will rise...

Would normally sell in these situations but 4.5% discount to the bid price seems a bit unreasonable so will probably hang on for now.

I have owned Gresham House (LON:GHE) since it was an investment trust, so its been a good journey and I have achieved a 4x return since 2014. I'm a bit surprised by the offer. Disappointed it is leaving the listed market, as its a great company led by Tony Dalwood, but its a good price. This will definitely have an impact on Foresight group (LON:FSG) which I also own as they are virtually identical asset management groups. It maybe also reveals some value in Petershill Partners (LON:PHLL) as well, although I am a bit more suspicious about the opaqueness of this Goldman Sachs vehicle.

For those of you interested in history, Gresham House plc is pretty much the oldest company on the London market and has been going since 1857 with a company number of just 871! Sad to see it go private, so I have mixed feelings about the bid.

Been waiting for this to happen. Shares have been so undervalued that if they didn't re-rate they were going to get bought out. Excellent 67pct premium to last closing price.

Another very positive set of results today, they never disappoint:Div up 60% and 3.5x coveredAdj. operating profit up 34%Adj. EPS up 12%Share price has preformed poorly over the last year for no reason other than being pulled down by the general poor performance across smaller companies / more traditional asset managers. Had considered selling but think the share price may now have bottomed and will move back to reflect the continued good numbers.

Price drop is linked to GHE seeking to enforce better governance on the board of Gresham House Strategic Inv Tst (GHS) for whom GHE are the asset manager and also hold an over 20% stake. In my view it shows strong principles on the part of GHE and the present impact in the GHE share price I see as a buying opportunity. I topped up very slightly yesterday hedging my bets incase the share price falls further. Incidentally, the largest holding in GHS received a takeover bid yesterday providing a positive benefit for GHE's stake in the trust. The holding in question represents 23% of the GHS trust.
