Fraid that 13500 of that volume was an unfortunate buy approx. 30 minutes before the announcement (worst timed trade of my life!!!).

I have a theory that Phil Derry was banking on the deal for ICOM re purchase of Intellect Networks to go through before the year end and therefore inflate profits.

He left abruptly last week for an unscheduled meeting in the States and then the announcement was made on Tuesday re: Eurotelecom not going to make a profit by April 2001.

the only thing that I fear, is are we being taken for a ride?

I certainly hope not, but then there have been many with burnt fingers this year (Monticello etc. - I am not saying that this is another Monti, but I will be interested to see what our money is being spent on).

this share is strange. It goes down on hardly any volume at all. The announcement, which wasn't really that bad, halved the share price. Again there was no volume at all, maybe 35,000 sells. For a share price to halve you would expect a massive sell off. What happens today? We see a little rebound of the lows (15p bid yesterday) to 25p bid today.

EUTC (nasdaq version of the share) has rallied over 35% to almost 60c a share, so what does this lead me to believe........another drop tomorrow!!!! I'm sure hoping that we have seen the bottom with this share.

For those who don't know... this is not the same Eurotelecom that has just bombed. Even though the name appears to have dragged it down some what.
This share has a future.

ETMA is a young company, loss making, in a sector that is more volatile than most. It is unfortunate that as the sector declines, so will the price in individual stocks within it.

I bought some of these months ago, and am v.tempted to average down on these prices. The few news stories on this stock are positive, but don't look for huge short term gains. I think this company are in a niche market, with good growth opportunties, and as they win more long term contracts they will look a better investment. Unfortunately, their name has the dreaded telecoms word in it, and as they are not an established player which is partly the reason for the slide me thinks. The spread now will not attract many short term investors, bbut long terms what is 5p?

IMHO they will be a big success story in 3-5 years, and 50p will seem a steal. I might wait a week or two, and see if I can buy at 40-45p

If you were selling a car in Automart and you had no phone calls, what would you do? Drop the price to attract buyers?

Supply & demand - same old story.

I bought in last Thursday, largely on the strength of a rave review on citywire.co.uk Here's the link:

The share price is at an all time low, although buying started late Friday afternoon. I'm expecting a big movement north on Monday to offset some of my recent losses.
