Posted at 25/10/2006 23:11 by bird of dawning Why would the new bidders offer more than the withdrawn MBO (around £3)? If there was a likely bid premium we would have seen the price rise accordingly. Any bid has already been discounted into the current price.Regards bod |

Posted at 07/6/2006 14:58 by win2003 Quietly moving forward - bit like this thread....LONDON (AFX) - Construction group Amco PLC saw its full year results improve "substantially", helped by the performance of structural steel, contracting, property development and plastic. The experienced "modest" losses on Dosco underground equipment. Pretax profit in the year to Dec 31 came in at 7 mln stg against 3 mln, the earnings per share was 42.7 pence compared with 23 pence while the dividend is to be 11 pence. The group intends to make an additional contribution of 1.4 mln stg to the pension fund, and said is positive about its prospects for 2006 but expects reduced profits from contracting activities due to the closure of UK coal, and added Dosco operates in a "very difficult market" and is hoping for a profit. |
Posted at 15/5/2006 17:23 by bird of dawning This stock has that rare combination of growth + value. ARP is currently trading at a low price to sales ratio (well below 1) also its earnings multiple is still low. ROCE at around 27% and relative price strength over the last year....phenomenal!This stock has almost been my solitary holding over the last 18 months. Its outperformed other stocks of about the same market capitalisation with similar fundamentals to those stated above. Anyone out there with views on this outperformance? My hunch is that its because Amco's business includes (that magic word!)........MINING services. |
Posted at 02/2/2006 11:10 by balcony DiogenesJ-Early in the week the price was 225-275 but they were paying 240,Today they are paying 275.Any shares you think are undervalued at the moment?thanks. |
Posted at 02/2/2006 09:47 by diogenesj Isn't it strange how this share does nothing for weeks, and then one morning it's up (today) or down 20% for no apparent reason? |
Posted at 23/1/2006 10:50 by balcony Liarspoker-My thinking is we will see a full year profit of between 5 and 6m pounds for the year,I also would not be surprized if amco and tolent merged at some time,Now would be a good time as the share prices are almost equal. |
Posted at 11/1/2006 13:21 by balcony I just wonder if some good news is about to break, the price just keeps moving up. |
Posted at 10/8/2005 14:44 by balcony 5K buys moves the price a bit. |
