UK retail sales unexpectedly dropped in May

In the UK, retail sales dropped 1.40% on a MoM basis in May, compared to a rise of 9.20% in the previous month. Markets were expecting retail sales to climb 1.60%.

UK house price index rose in June

In the UK, the house price index advanced 0.80% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a rise of 1.80% in the prior month.

Euro-zone current account surplus widened in April

In the Euro-zone, current account surplus widened to €22.80 billion in April, compared to a surplus of €17.80 billion in the previous month.

German PPI rose more than expected in May

In Germany, the PPI advanced 7.20% on a YoY basis in May, compared to a rise of 5.20% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the producer price index to rise by 6.40%.

Australia’s retail sales rose less than expected in May

In Australia, retail sales advanced 0.10% on a MoM basis in May, compared to a rise of 1.10% in the prior month. Markets were expecting retail sales to rise by 0.70%.
